Lenovo P620 errors -- reinstate warranty / support?

Hi there,

I purchased a very well-used Lenovo P620 from eBay recently -- it came with a 3995WX, no RAM, no GPU and no storage. I've been getting CPU errors after looping boots when I try to install Windows. I can't get even the BIOS updated, and am seeing these after each boot/loop:

[ 5.735872] mce: [Hardware Error]: CPU 119: Machine Check 0 Rank 5 (illegible after this on the line)

[ 5.7358871] mce: [Hardware Error]: TSC 0 Misc d01c0000000000 SYND (etc)

[ 5.7359021] mce: [Hardware Error]: PROCESSOR 2; 030F10 TIME 1732(ETC)

My question is this: I can return it to the seller, but it seems that as of today (5/31/2025) I can still reinstate the warranty and support for this (various tiers start at $49 + $20 reinstatement fee).

I quite like this box and got it for way less than I think it was worth, especially with that 64-core processor. If I go ahead and purchase support, would that also mean I'd have to somehow find the GPU/RAM that this came with? Or does Lenovo even care about what GPU I'd be now running (I'm attempting to boot with a known good 3090 and install the OS on a known good m.2).

Thanks in advance!

You sure of the processor? Just looking at the Lenovo P620 specs, I did not find a model with the very expensive 3995X. Each one here came with a 59xx processor.

Also, you need RAM and a GPU or the system won't boot.

CPU is supported, check the PSREF here - https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/ThinkStation/ThinkStation_P620?tab=spec

Read the ultra fine peint on statute of limitations of having a warranty

If it's a dual Processor system and only one CPU was supplied, ensure it is in the primary socket.
