EK apparently developed a unit aimed at system builders, which tests, drains, cleans, flushes and fills loops.
See 12:04 here
I do not know if they have any other material about it.
Recently I built a loop containing EK rads and I encountered a problem of the walls of the reservoir getting covered with probably the soldering rosin from the rads. So the flushing/cleaning function is really practical from this point of view, when the manufacturer delivers rads soiled inside out of the factory. Subsequently I damaged the plastic walls of the reservoir, when I used pure alcohol to clean it.
Regarding the flushing and cleaning function I have a few questions:
Can the unit heat up the cleaning fluid? Especially when cleaning such matarials as soldering residues, warm cleaning agent can probably help a lot.
Can it reverse the flow direction? If you want to flush debris from the blocks, you need to flush them with the reversed water flow. If the unit cannot reverse the flow, it is in my opinion completely useless for cleaning the loops.
I would imagine that the cleaning program should last a longer time, use very strong flow with alternating direction, use filters to catch mechanical debris.
I found this product interesting and intriguing. I cannot claim I am an engineering genius, but to me it feels that the unit should be a bit larger to really do what it should do.
