thinking it jsut needs a new fan, checked bios doesnt seem to be anything in there about fan speed/temperatures/power management

looking for any possible suggestions before i order a new fan for the thing.

how long has it been since the fan was cleaned and the fins of the cooler cleaned of dust, fur coats, or small animals?

Birds can easily get stuck in there as well, similar to what happens on the engines of a Boeing 737.

Probably just needs cleaning and a new layer of thermal compound.

it was cleaned after the bsod, no traces of bid feathers, this thing is a blower fan deal shown here: http://www.cwc-group.com/db9733.html

it was kept in a cabinet with the door proped open a little bit for airflow, only had a smidge of dust on it.

no thermal compound applied to use this fan, it is screwed onto the heatsink.

i do not have a similar fan to test.
