When it comes to cooling I win!

I fear I am blowing static into it tho.

GPU question. How do I take my GPU apart to regoop it? I have had it almost 7 years and never replaced the thermal compound. I can't brick it as I can't afford to replace it.
Currently I am playing ESO and have hit 100% usage. I can't get a stable over clock on it and my temps are in the low 60's so I am probably ok. Either way, I have regooped my CPU twice already. GPU is probably due.

it is specific to the GPU. if you take the card out & post a pic of it, front & back, it shouldnt be hard to tell you how to take it apart.

a few things id suggest before doing it , would be .

do you have thermal paste on hand?
do you have .5mm , 1mm, 1.5mm & 2mm thermal pads on hand? (these are the sizes commonly used on video cards, you'll only NEED them if you damage the ones installed now)
are you reasonably good with taking things apart?
do you have rubbing alcohol?

most cards are pretty simple to take apart (nvidia reference Can be a PITA), its usually a handful of screws on the back of the PCB, maybe one or two on the i/o shield. then its a matter of twisting a little gently while you leverage the shroud away from the pcb gently.

Hi,
Yep ghetto mod section :-)
I have one on two mora 360's seeing 9 or four fans costs a lot more than one box fan

ok, you win. I like the shroud!
Looks like you have an octopus there.

Hi,
Yeah left some slack so I could drop one or "both if I remove all the 120mm fans" of the mora's into a dry ice or reg ice cooler
I painted one box fan black too

Two box fans (push/pull)
Car radiator
Water cooling

Hey look, a new project.

theres a way to make a cooler with a room A.C. too. I read about it on another forum, Tom's maybe.
A non sealed unit would cause me to lose sleep.
I suppose I could attach a pulley to one of the fans and run a water pump. I think I have one off of an old 5.2L Jeep motor around here somewhere...hmmmm

Didn't paint mine, it came that way. What are you doing about noise control? I don't want to have to crank up the volume loud enough to drown it out. The background noise gives me one hell of a headache after about 90 minutes.

LTT did something like this with great results.

Using an aquarium chiller.

That's just more power to keep a desktop running. There's a reason people don't run air conditioners on their computers
