Taken from Everest I have:

DIMM1: Nanya M2Y1G64TU8HB0B-25C 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (3-3-3-9 @ 200 MHz)
DIMM3: Nanya M2Y1G64TU8HB0B-25C 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (3-3-3-9 @ 200 MHz)

I can either run my memory at 416Mhz (DDR2-833) at 5-5-5-15, or 333Mhz (DDR2-667) at 4-4-4-12.

Using 832Mhz I'm 4:5 ram/fsb ratio whereas using slower 667Mhz would give me 1:1 ratio.

What would give the best performance, higher speed at looser timings or lower speed at tighter timings?
I did get 0.3 seconds better Superpi 1M using the higher speed looser timings but would this be reflected in stuff like gameplay?

From DDR2-800 to DDR2-833 it's a small oc, I guess I'm not pushing my ram too hard. They're rated at 1.8V and I have them at 1.9V.

They've been DDR2-833 5-5-5-15 1.9V for quite some months now. Was just wondering what effects would tighter timings have and whether it's worth to tighten timings at the expense of speed.

Edit: uhh why does everest say 5-5-5-18 for 400Mhz?

I got a boost in Everest by changing from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-10 while reducing the RAM from 1062 to 884.

Check here to see my progress with it!

I can tell you right now that Nero Recode is marginally faster with 4-4-4-10.

I would stick with the higher speed.

Are you opposed to giving them more voltage? It shouldn't hurt them as long as you keep them cool.

Did you try changing each timing separately at the higher speed? Like 4-5-4-10 for example.

I still have to check the max voltage they support. I had just risked it last june with 1.9V... Are Nanya and Elixir the same thing? I swear mine are Elixir.
So far got no extra cooling for the memory either.

I neglected to mention that this RAM is rated @ 800 MHz with 4-4-4-12 and 2.1 volts but, in benching, i run it @ 940 MHz with 4-4-4-10 and 2.1 volts: have to increase the NB volts, though.

Yep, Nanya and Elixir are the same, I belive the main company is Nanya and the memory line is Elixir.

I just keep an 80mm fan on my rams, it's more than enought to keep them cool. Then I'm able to pour on the voltage and the only ram deaths I've had are the usual Ballistix RMA's, and that's usually from running too fast on not enough voltage in my cases oddly enough.
