Suppose you were following the announcement of the newest Windows 11 features like Recall and Copilot. In that case, you questioned Microsoft's approach to these new features regarding security, real-world usage, and, least likely, naming scheme. If the latter is the case, you are in for a treat. According to the latest round of reports, Microsoft is reportedly preparing to converge its AI features under a new brand name—Windows Intelligence. This move comes as the tech giant expands its AI integration across the Windows platform to give customers more reassurance in its AI features. However, the company has yet to confirm the official rebranding initiative. Recent discoveries by tech enthusiasts have fueled speculation about this upcoming change. In October, researcher Tero Alhonen uncovered options for AI-enabled applications, while X user Albacore recently spotted a placeholder settings page for Windows Intelligence in a Windows 24H2 build.

"Windows Intelligence" isn't entirely new to Microsoft's ecosystem, as it was previously used in security-related updates. However, this broader application signals a shift from its earlier security-focused context and appears to replace the "Windows AI" designation spotted in Group Policy earlier this year. The rebranding seems to follow a trend set by Apple, which has branded its AI features as "Apple Intelligence." However, Microsoft's approach with "Windows Intelligence" suggests a focus on creating a unified hub for AI features within its operating system rather than just a clever play on the "AI" acronym. While controversial features like Recall and the recently redesigned Copilot are expected to retain their current branding, Windows Intelligence could serve as an overarching framework for managing AI permissions and data usage across the platform.

Whatever they call it, I haven't needed any of them, and have been forced upon my pc

If they call it Windows Intelligence, I bet Apple won’t be happy about that.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Although Apple has the upper hand here, since its term can be shortened to AI. It's stupid either way.

Windows Spyware, just rolls off the tongue.

Atleast I know what to avoid now. GLWS.

"Windows Intelligence" that's a f|_|cking contradiction in terms if i ever heard one.
Also Dhalsim's underlings pinned that copilot bullshit to my taskbar with the latest win update, they can go have intercourse with the copilot and each other as far as i'm concerned.

All I will need to know is how to remove it from the iso/install image prior to install (consumer) and rollout (business).

Once both consumers wake up that will be in the same boat as businesses NOT wanting this on thier PC's. I worry about how I am going to navigate the issue at whatever place of work I am at that isnt aware and I have to either have modify the install myself, or have a conversation and decide if I want to work there or not..

Will this improve the success rate of Winblows "Fixing" OS boot up problems?
You know... When you boot the system and it says it needs to do an "Automatic Repair" to the OS, which always seems to never fix anything.

So many AI, so little intelligenc.

The problem today is A.I. is doing a great job at making humans dumb and stupid. With A.I. today you can have it write an essay, make a business plan, plan a budjet, and have it drive your car. The problem is now humans will not learn how to do that themselves. Sooner or later A.I. will control you and you will not control it. I see A.I. as a threat to humanity. A threat to our creativity. A mind is a terrible thing to waste when you ask technology to do all the thinking for you. You lose the life building blocks. Imagine a kid growing up with A.I. This kid will never learn hardships.

Forcing crap on the consumer...so what else is new at Micro$hit company?

C.S. Lewis covered this some time ago. Any time we overcome nature (the unknown), we become a slave to the solution. For example, we created the automobile, and now we are highly dependent on motorized transportation for survival. The internet is another example, where studies show we retain information less because we know we have a tool to help us get that information whenever we need it. AI will certainly diminish our skills, should we allow it.

they wouldnt have to keep rebranding if they released features people actually wanted. rebranding is basically the closest a company can ever get to saying "we failed"

Most of the AI craze is just withering stupidity for the masses. Not in all cases though.

MS is catering to the withering stupidity crowd aggressively.

I wish they would call it Clippy Intelligence.

:p

This is an age old problem. The solution being classically that human beings just move up jobs and do better jobs when mundane stuff is done by machine/robots/whatever. The question is what will happen to those that just won't be able to compete in any way ? I think there is plenty hardship coming.

Yes, it’s like a second industrial revolution one that will make a lot of currently employed people redundant on the white collar side.

not that there isn’t a lot of work that is to be done cleaning up the mess we made of our world and fixing crumbling infrastructure trick will be finding a way to fund that.

Games For Windows Laive

/thread

I only use Windows for gaming almost everything else is done on Linux and I really don't like the amount of resources windows uses for features that I've no use for on windows. At least I can use 3rd party tools to remove features/services with ease but they definitely need a gaming flavour of the OS because Linux native games run better with less and a lot of windows games are just as good if it better on Linux. I'll pay to not have the fluff I don't need.
