Well as the title states I am trying to get a piston powered bridge set up where I can raise it on one end and lower it on the other and vice versa however I am having some difficulty with it and would like some advice on how to go about it. I'm not quite sure which logic gate to use or how to do it simply due to the size of the bridge I want to make.

Also I seem to have a redstone repeater that cannot be turned off once it has been turned on.

Also I seem to have a redstone repeater that cannot be turned off once it has been turned on.

That is because it is stuck in a feedback loop. I would make sure the output of the repeater can't actually get back to the input. You may want to different repeaters to provide "power" to half of the pistons each.

Fixed the feedback loop and now I have changed the design slightly so I can power both sides of my bridge without needing a large loop around. However that on off switch is still giving me problems with making both sides work independently, I can make it so that it will function correctly if you raise it on one side then cross and lower and if you are leaving the area you got into be able to raise it then cross and lower it again from the opposite side but I cannot make the two sides completely independent of each other.

I can take a picture of how I am currently powering it though I doubt it would do much to help with my questions :o
