Missing data in exported xml file (using -dump parameter)

Hello there! o)

I was happy to find out about the "-dump" command line parameter today, which I tried immediately.
Unfortunately I quickly realized that there is some information missing in the exported xml file, eg.:

- lookup url
- release date of gpu
- numbers of transistors

Further more, all the data in the "Advanced" tab, which lists all the hardware en/decoding support, is not exported to xml either.
Is there a chance someone from the dev team is able to include at least the missing information from the main tab in the exported xml?

Of course seeing all the "advanced" info in the exported xml would be super nice! o)
That said, I don't know your thinking about GPU-Z being a fully automated tool and supporting very easy export of all the GPU data.
Could be you actually don't want that, I don't know, but I hope you will tell me. o)

Thank you! o)

ps: This is not meant for commercial use. I just try to quickly collect data from all my collected / gifted GPUs (AGP cards mostly).
I have quite many and it's getting more, people still throw away a lot of old computers these days and I take them all! o), but..
Doing screenshots and then manually typing all the stuff into a spread sheet is a very tedious task (which I wanted to get rid of).

Good suggestion, I can add release and transistors.

Is Lookup URL any useful in the export?

Exporting Advanced is quite complicated and not something that can easily be added, especially with it being such a rare use case. You can copy all entries from Advanced

Hello W1zzard! o)

That would be awesome! o) I think lookup url is nice to have as well, it could replace the screenshots I take to get a quick overview of all the specs. There also is additional information on the linked webpage for each GPU, I'm not sure what I would use it for exactly, but since it's another simple string in the export (I guess), maybe it does not hurt to have it in there as well. I see that exporting all the advanced details is a lot different and not so easy, I just mentioned them to make the big picture complete, not so important for now! o)

Thank you for taking the time to read my first post here, much appreciated!
See you, tb23! o)

Hello! o)

I checked the release / version history and you did it! o)
  • Added "Transistors" and "Release Date" to XML dump output
Thank you! o)

For now you seems to have decided against putting the lookup url into the XML file as well. I still would appreciate being able to go from exported XML to the GPU page hosted here.
You know, it is a bit of a hassle to pull the old computer from the shelf, put specific GPU in there, install windows and run GPU-Z to get to that GPU web page via the "Lookup" button! o)
If I can give any more details which would convince you, please let me know! o)

Thanks again! Appreciate your efforts and listening to users, makes my day! o)

Thank you
You are most welcome, it was a good suggestion

lookup url
I'm not sure if I want to drive (more) automated traffic to the GPUDB. We have several layers of protection there, so your automated scraping would probably result in a captcha or get your IP banned

Well, I would surely not scrape the hell out of it! I don't have that many GPUs and I would have to do all the exports first/again! o)
It would just be handy to have a direct link and start navigating predecessor / successor etc. in the future exports.

I guess if anyone wanted to take bigger chunks of your GPU specs database, he would simply start scraping the site as it is right now (filtering by date to get started or something). Well, if this is possible at all, I don't know I did not try. People buying GPUs and doing hundreds of XML exports to get all the GPU urls is also quite a bad idea. So, having the URL in the export probably does not lead to increased traffic? I'm not sure, but I see that it needs some thinking beforehand.

Maybe the site owner or the maintenance people can be asked about it? If they give green light, then why not?! o)
