Hello all

Due to lack of the information on the internet(i know, right) or simply my inability to find it im asking you for help.

Need to cool 3990X with two 3090s as silently as possible. Preferably with 2x MO-RA3 420mm or 360mm stacked in a sandwich. Dual loop. Locked in a gutted out Apple G5 case with perforated side panels(ofc rads only).
CPU and GPUs will rarely operate at the same time - thats why i think sandwich might just work.

Rads will be cooled by 9x eloops or 4x noctuas at about 600rpm with a boost after water temp reaches 35'C - controlled by a D5 Next

The alternative would be to use 5x 420 HW Labs SR2 in a row, connected parallelly with 12 fans in between. Airflow in the direction against water flow.

Questions are:
What is thermal performance of mora3s 360/420 radiators?
What do you think about both ideas for "silent cooling" a hardware that will potentially generate about 1700W under full load?

Hi,
I've got a couple mora 360mm for each of my systems or I can combine them seeing I have quick disconnects

Bottom line a mora will get your water temp closer to room ambient temperature how much depends only rad system that has done that for me
Mine is usually 25cish and one 360 gets me at around 28c water temp 2 really doesn't change that it will just give you more headroom to sustain it a lower water temp.
Without a mora water temp is a round 31c

A bit late to this thread, but I see you did not get a lot of answers yet.

I use two MoRa 360s in my current config (and some other rads but those are their own loop). I got three separate loops in total, one MoRa 360 for my CPU and one for the 3090.

My CPU (which has a decent OC and produces propably similar heat to a stock 3990X plus or minus a few watts) has the MoRa with 4x Silverstone AP181 in a simple Pull config. I run them at their medium setting (900RPM). The water temp on this one never exceeds ambient +6°C. So at 20°C ambient I see 26°C max. water temp.
The 3090 has a MoRa with 8x Silverstone AP181s (same 900RPM) in push/pull which is just total overkill. The water never really heats up, its ambient +2°C on that one.

I'd say your heatoutput will be double to what I have and it should be fine with two MoRas. Keep in mind tho, they need some static pressure. If you run smaller fans in super low RPM the airflow through two of them stacked might stall completly. As long as you can keep some airflow sustained they will do the trick.
