During standard computer usage such as internet browsing, and file management in Windows Explorer, I experience things like:
-Mouse not registering a click during browsing (I click again, and it works).
-Keyboard sometimes missing clicks as well. This can be a single key/letter, or not responding when trying to paste text (Ctrl+V). This only happens in certain scenarios, and not in others. This does not happen if I am writing in a Notepad file. But this will happen if I am writing the same post directly in a forum text box, which included more fancy rich text features.
-Using Windows Explorer, dragging a video file to a madia player will feel sluggish for a second. The mouse does not move smooth. But the video plays fine.
-While trying to select multiple files (Also in Details View), sometimes it will feel sluggish for a secnod.
-While playing games, the run fine and smooth, but frames will drop for a couple of seconds / stutter, immediately after a loading sequence.
-My monitor (which is 144Hz) will drop to a much slower refresh rate (not while gaming), if I hover my mouse over specific Programs / Apps. I switch to another program, or to the desktop, etc, and it returns to 144hz (I see the frames from the OSD, and also notice the mouse movement is much more sluggish).
-One problem, which happens now, and alsoo happened before the new windows installation, seems like it is a bug / Windows related, which puzzles me. It is like a bug that happens when I am having several Windows Explorer windows and going from one to the other using the taskbar. I can't explain it but I can try and capture it if it will help.
I described as best as I can some of the problems I experience. These happen for a couple of months now.
Things I have tried until now:
-Running MemTest86. Passed with no errors.
-Using different mouse and keyboard (both wired). As well as connecting them to different USB ports.
-Fresh installation of Windows 10. And then installing the necessary drivers. At first, some of the problems seemed better, but after a couple of days they now happen again. And it seems a bit worse.
-Turning off the computer and cleaning from dust. Then checking all the cables are connected properly:
After I tried to turn on my computer, it would turn on, then off after 1 second, like a loop. I turned it off again. The next morning I turned it on and it powered on fine.
Because of that, I thought maybe it is a faulty PSU. But I also noticed this area on the motherboard, which looked like its fried..? And here is a picture which I took 5 years ago, just after I put together my computer:
Here are some videos / pictures that demonstrates some of the things I experience in Windows:
I should mention I use a UPS (uninterruptible power supply).
