Mouse click speed

Hi. I would need an advice in this simple topic. I play a game which needs fast and very accuracy movement of the mouse and every msec matters. I can't afford expensive mouses and trying some cheap ones. for my playing a mouse with 1000-1200 dpi movement is normal because higher dpi is not very accurate to quickly stop on the spot. My problem is that I noticed some mice click have a bit lag compared to others, I mean when you click and and drag a piece and then release to put in its place, releasing is a bit slower than other mouse I had. Question is, what is the measurement of fast clicking (if there is such) to look when buying a mouse? I know dpi means - movement, ips - is sensor tracking, but fast click?

Look at mouse reviews that include click latency tests. Some sites like Techpowerup or RTINGS include that in their mouse reviews.

What you describe could be due to pre-travel distance, mouse denounce, processing time, or USB input delay. What you want to be looking for is low input latency as it factors in all of that. As sLowEnd pointed out, look for review sources like RTings and TPU that include input latency.

How much you like a mouse depends very much on if you like the shape so find a mouse within your budget with a shape you like that also has low latency.

I looked those mice with latency tests, but those are too expensive for me. What maximum click latency would be acceptable for fast gaming?

That's what it costs.

If you want performance, it costs money.

Otherwise try to buy a cheap second hand mouse off a friend.

There are mice like the MM720 all the way down to $25 with low latency. Use this table tool and add the click latency column and sort by it: https://www.rtings.com/mouse/tools/table
