Mouse hardware DPI button no longer functions?

Anyone encountered something similar?

A mouse (Redimp GM300-B) with a dedicated DPI button. Self-adjusting, doesn't require software.
It worked the last time I tried it many months ago. Now, nothing. The motion response stays the same. Can't tell if the clicks register because there's no visual indication.

I don't see why it should stop working. The button was barely used so physical failure is unlikely.

it stopped working probably because its a cheap mouse and not made with the best of buttons, specially since they dont expect the dpi button to get a lot of key presses.

Also, buttons build up oxidation if they arent used in a while. you can try opening up the mouse, and try to spray some contact cleaner on the affected button....

or since it seems cheap, get another one.

Anyone else encountered something similar?

If it was a common problem in cheap mice there would be more user reports.

Hi,
No software so it relies on firmware and physical switch
I agree it's likely the switch.

Have you tried it on a different pc ?

look at my reply. the 2nd one is quite common for me since my mouse is from 2007, so its 14 years old now. Just contact cleaner works well for me.
