Hi All.
I,m stuck and desesperated...My MSI 915 P Neo 2 Platinum don´t accept WXP anymore. When installing it received message "...no HDDs on system...F3 to leave installation",but i have 2 disks (ata 100,ata 33) atatched.I have a diskete to install drivers to raid but gives me error "in line xxxx of some file" and stop installation.Tryed to run HDDs without RAID but couldn´t or do not know how to do it,stays allways on raid, even if i remove 1 of them,or put another computer HDD that i have (sure is good).
The amaysing to me is that i can install Millenium perfectly , and then tryed to upgrade to WXP but the same problems happens.Tryed GOOGLE to watch this problem and find a lot of same errors threads but didn´t find solutions.
If someone had this same problem and find a solution ,please be so kind to elucidate me.Or if someone as this "G72.ICH6010 for INTEL ICH6R/VIA VT6410" diskete please send me the content to "aguiar.marques1@clix.pt".Thank you for your help.:respect:

To stop using RAID go to your motherboard bios under intergrated Perphieral. Find the word RAID and disable it.

Hi thanks for your help.
I already did that but the VT6410 chipset software keep loading after bios load converting the HDDs into RAID???Even if i disconect fisicaly any one of them.So i allways as to have F6 to continue WXP install and get reading error from the diskete.Any ideas Plz?Cause i´m:banghead:

just wondering, have you tried with another copy of windows XP,
you know, just incase your windows XP aint legit or something,

another issue is that if you are using the onboard raid controller for those disks,
download another copy of the driver diskette from via, and insert it when windows says in the start of the install "press F8 (i think) if you have drivers for an aditional scsi or raid controller" and press the F8 key,

another thing is that in the bios you can set the controller to be a normal IDE controller insted of a raid controller (i think),

or update bios,

Yes.I have 2 cds of WXP that allways worked (at this moment i´m installing it in the 2 HDDs that where in the 915 P on another computer a SOLTEK MOBO,so far loking good).
to me the problem is with VT6410 chip or its software (hoping that mobo is ok)that doesn´t disconect in bios setup(it as the propertyes but doesn´t disconect ???)set onboard RAID controller OFF-->set in ADVAN...chipset config , under RAID compatibility DISABLED-->SAVED new config of bios & rebooted-------->but the software from the VT6410 continues to load stoping bios autodectet to see the HDDs,and then WXP do what i´ve told before---->in F6 i put the diskete and get error readings and no install...but i have the option to continue install pressing ENTER,i do that and receive error "no HDDs in system...F3 to quit----------------->and all starts over and over.
About donwloading a new diskete content from NET there are a few crossed information that fears me from creat a bad diskete and ruin my MObo.
but thanks for your help.
at this moment HDDs in new computer are formating, and later ill tell the result...CYA
PS:bios mobo r allready and suxcefully updated.

I changed your title if you don't mind, so that people know what this thread is about, and more people who know more about Windows and RAID and such will come in.

do IDE hdd's work on you mobo?

Obvious questions...

Reset CMOS / Removed battery?
Go back to an older BIOS?

You said "but the software from the VT6410 continues to load stoping bios" - Where is it loading from and is there any option to stop it, or jump into the setup for it?

Hi pt.answering to you-->at the 915p they aren´t detected by BIOS but i managed to install MILLENIUM,as i already said before. But now at the SOLTEK board they worked perfect and installed WXP.---->So itsn´t a HDDs problem.

Hi Sasqui.yes already jump reset CMOS/no to the battery remotion,is there no problem to do it ? must i reinstall bios after ?sorry if it sounds a noob thing, but never tryed that action before.
also didn´t tryed to install older BIOS version, should i try it ?
for the VT...man really dont know but tryed many, many variations on BIOS settings hoping to disable the loading of the control RAID but just after the LOGO reboot page, comes a message saing to press TAB key to enter at the RAID tool to chose what kind of RAID you want (i.e.RAID 0, 0+1,MIRRORING,spanning,etc),just before the time to press the DELETE key to enter BIOS settings. So it loads before BIOS.Must say, that RAID tool dont have a option to load with HDDs as normal IDE.I believe u r forced to chose a raid setting, and i think i´ve tryed them all.
Found content for diskete and ill try it again to reach the F6 drivers load.
Man many thanks for your colaboration...ill keep in toutch...

 EUREKA MY FRIENDS:respect: BUT IT´S TOO LATE AND MUST GO TO SLEEP,I WORK TODAY.BUT TOMORROW ILL BE HERE TO GIVE DETAILS.:toast:

Well after some aspirines (because of bumps in my head) i finally found the answer...MSI tecnical support is not.!.Every and i mean every driver i tryed from them was corrupted...oldest ,newest, all, weren´t able to crack the " F6 wall ".The answer was here, not getting good file driver to go along with F6 installation.
IT was in BRASIL that i found the missing "link" to be ablle to find the correct VT6410 RAID Controller for the MSI 915 P/G Neo 2 Platinum motherboard that resolved this issue...must also say that even INTEL couldn´t resolve the problem...well it´s done... and the file is... VIA_RAID_V420/A (pick a clean pre-formatted diskette ( not a ms-dos reboot) . Unzip the file and look for DriverDisk, then open it , select the 3 items that apears (PIDE , RAID , TXTSETUP.OEM) and send them to A:/ ( don´t just copy-paste , gave me error ).
Now start installing SO , but pay attention , u must press F6 key at the very beggining of the installation...after the installation auto stops and ask for the 3rth part software , put the diskette in and press E to start diskette install. Now just follow procedure...and VOILÁ...

I now would like to respectfully give my humble thanks to all of you that make this wordl better by trying to help , any how , those u r needed.THANK YOU :rockout:

Well simple things are made difficult if you didn't explain properly. Good to know you finally got it working. Cheers.

Dilligence is a good thing, glad you got it figured out... it's always the thing that you least expect ;)
