I don't understand why Afterburner has to use idiotic offset for clocks instead of actual clocks. It's so clumsy to use since you never know what's the damn starting point...

When I unzip the folder the version says 4.3.0 not 4.4.0.

There seems to be a mistake.

Is this out of Beta testing now?

From where did you download?

It should read 4.4 on AB's main window or 4.4.0.11945 in the info box

Because every GPU, for at least Nvidia, has different max boost clocks out of the box. Its never the value the chip is rated for.

It doesn't matter. Even when you set +100 of something it goes beyond that. The point is, I have ZERO clue what I'm even setting to in the first place. With ASUS GPU Tweak and AORUS Graphics Engine you at least know what is your overclocked "base" clock set to. 1708 MHz in my case. But GPU Boost translates that into 1950 MHz. With offset adjustment, I don't even know what the hell I'm setting the "base" overclock to. It's just +100 MHz on top of something. That's why I hate the damn thing.

Its not that hard to figure out dude.

I just break out the GPU-Z and see what's going on.

I also use GPUZ for monitoring, but for overclocking you cant do it with just that

But why complicate shit when dumb program could just display it RIGHT THERE in its own god damn interface?

Alright fellas we get it, some folks think that's an issue and some don't.

Clearly the designers feel their method works just fine, and obviously a lot of people are fine with it. If you're not, use something else. Simple and problem solved.

Let's tone down the language k? Thanks! :toast:

interestingly(using Afterburner 4.3.0), i found when i used the "check now" update function built into Afterburner in the settings, it did find an update, but it was the Same version, V 4.3.0, it DL'd it and everything.? o_O
i had to manually go to the MSI Afterburner DL link, and do it outside of the Program. dont know why it did it, but it refused to get the 4.4.0V....just figured id mention it.

"Use something else" Something else like? What?

iirc,Rivatuner has a similar function/purpose, & trixx, but I'm pretty sure they all function close to identical to afterburner so you may have the same issue you're having with afterburner

some more
EVGA Precision X

Watch out , for some reason it set my fan speed to 24% on manual. I played for a one hour Wolfenstein 2 while the GPU was pegged at 83c , I didn't even noticed anything since the card still managed to stay above the base clock . I'll be damned Pascal and Turbo Boost sure are something.

Downloaded from AUTO UPDATE Link from inside Afterburner..??

Yeah that's where I got the 4.3 ,which was weird because I was running 4.3. It seems that whatever the program uses as a link for its downloads is expired or something. I don't know why it did it, but I just manually dl'd it and it went to 4.4 fine

I wonder if afterburner Extreme would give the same issues? I know its become harder to get (they have several steps that you have to complete and cooling submissions that must be done with subzero methods , i.e. dry ice ,liquid nitrogen etc.). Plus an nda
