MSI MPG 322URX Unveiled as a New 4K, 240 Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor

MSI has unveiled a new 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor with a 240 Hz refresh rate, dubbed the MPG 322URX. The monitor, targeted squarely at gamers, boasts a respectable set of features and performance. MSI claims 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which might make the monitor suitable even for professional use as well.

As mentioned previously, the 31.5-inch display is plenty expansive for most use cases, and utilizes the QD-OLED display technology. This allows the monitor to have an impressive maximum brightness, which MSI claims to be 1,000 nits at a 3% APL along with an HDR True Black 400 rating. Unsurprisingly, the inherent benefits of OLED panels are all present, including excellent contrast ratios facilitated by true blacks, and near-instantaneous response times. MSI offers a three-year warranty on the panel, which is good enough considering industry standards.

The monitor features a decent I/O selection, including dual USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-B port, a USB-C port with up to 98 watts of power delivery, DisplayPort 2.1, and dual HDMI 2.1 ports. The product has been unveiled in China as of now, and a global launch can be expected soon. Unfortunately, however, there is no word on pricing yet, but considering MSI's typical pricing strategy, we can expect it to be affordable enough for what it offers.

DP80...niiicceeee..

I bought the FO32U2P earlier this year, it already has DP2.1 UHBR20 thankfully, albeit I have no issues with DSC, always better to future proof because my last display was from 2016, I really don't upgrade them often.

Nowhere does it say that in specification.
It does not say it in the 322URX's specs page, yes, but:

UHBR20 = DP80, so hopefully the marketing is accurate for this model.

It was on the MSI Gaming stream this morning.

That's the 2nd full bandwidth DP2.1 being announced this autumn, I wonder if we will see more monitors being announced at CES, with 5000 series Nvidia GPU being rumored to launch with full DP2.1 support.

It would also have been nice if some tech journalist had made a proper investigation into why in the last 13+ months almost all monitors launched with only DP1.4. The scaler chip excuse was mentioned as a potential reason but not actually investigated (real disponibility, 1k unit price for DP2.1 VS DP1.4).

What would also have been nice if DSC would have been properly investigated too, because I don't consider Tim of Monitor/Hardware Unboxed demo of two different monitors from different brand running side by side and being showed the full of them next to each other on a compressed 4k YouTube stream (at around 0.4x magnification without being directly screen captured on top of that) a proper proof.
And let's consider the fact that the same "journalist" have used extansively slow-motion footage at 4-5x magnification to show DLSS superiority...

Only thing I'm interested in are the 5120x2160 120hz+ freesync panels coming in 34", 40" and 45" from LG in 2025 according to "leaks"....a 40" 5120x2160 (about the same density as a 32" 3840x2160 panel) 120hz+ panel is my dream and we will finally have this long awaited resolution.

Apparently the longest supported cable is 1.4 metres.

Passive cable though. There will be active cables.
That's still a big improvement from the DP 2.1 spec initially talking about captive cables only, then 80 cm, then 1 meter long cables.
