MSI X870E Tomahawk - Power LED doesn't blink in Sleep Mode

Hey, long time reader and first time poster here. I have an odd build issue I'm hoping someone here can help me with.

I recently just finished putting together a new AM5 system (details below). When the PC goes to sleep, the Power LED on the case does not blink, so I have no way to know if the system is asleep or turned off. The system resumes from sleep normally if the Power button is pressed. The Power LED is lit when the system is on.

I connected the Power LED as per the diagram below using MSI's front panel connector.

I also checked the BIOS settings. There is an option under ACPI > Power LED. Changing it from Blinking to Dual Color and back again had no effect.

I even tested with another LED connected (not the one on the case) to the Power LED pins on the motherboard: same behaviour. This has me thinking it's something on the motherboard or system side.

Has anyone run into a similar situation and figured out the cause?

CPU: Ryzen 9950X
Motherboard: MSI X870E Tomahawk
Case: Be Quiet! Pure Base 600
OS: Windows 11 24H2
Bios: 7E59 v2A4 (March 18, 2025)

Maybe it's a BIOS feature? I haven't seen the blinking light for sleep mode in many years unless it's a pre-built.

NVM I was too hasty. I didn't read where you said you had light when the system was on. Is the BIOS up to date?

I have the same board and it blinks when sleeping.

the post does not tell me if the power led is in any working condition.

I assume the power led shows some sign of light in any scenario. else you may test the led with a multimeter / crosscheck, etc. out of scope to do remote electronic diagnosis

I also think it is most likely an uefi feature. My asus mainboard has an advanced menu. many options can only be found with the search feature in the uefi menu.I assue the power led in your case is only a two wire led with a long wire. If so than it is a mainboard setting or generic mainboard problem.

I checked today and my power light definitely blinks when the computer is asleep. (Same mobo)

The power LED lights up when the computer is on. I suspect its fine.

I also tried hooking up another LED (separate from the case). It didn't blink in sleep mode either.

Sorry to repeat myself.
You have to check every uefi option in the uefi menu from your mainboard in the "advanced mode". I assume the options exists in uefi.
