I had a weird brightness issue when using any browsers based on chromium. It was driving me insane.
I was actually considering going out and buy a 4090 (luckily it doesn't fit inside my case)

When opening Edge / Chrome / Brave , the browser window would be very bright for a second or 2 then return to normal.
The same would happen if I was browsing prime video and then hover the mouse over another streaming site on the favorites bar.
The top bar and the outline of the browser would be very bright and the video previews would be overly saturated.
Starting up Clip Champ and the whole screen would be almost white and VERY bright.

The bug started when I installed the Helldivers 2 Beta driver and continued in the official 24.2.1 driver.
Adrenalin 24.1.1 does not show any of the symptoms.

So I started digging and found old info regarding Chrome and MPO bug (on nVidia cards) and tried the fix and it worked.

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm in the registry create a DWORD entry named OverlayTestMode with value 00000005 and then reboot.

But whenever I tried to record it with Adrenalin or any other screen recorder it would not show up. So I had to record with my cellphone.

EDIT

I don't know what effect - disabling MPO - has on the fullscreen performance or otherwise, but I haven't seen any negative side effects so far.

yeah the grey screen crash from 2021 is back as well.

Let me add that AMD overlay has bugs. Sometimes it prevents Adrenaline window from launching, sometimes instead of the cursor I get a rectangle. Using hotkey for quick on/off overlay mostly solve the cursor issue, but for the Adrenaline to start again sometimes I need to terminate the host application process in the task manager.

Idle power consumption on my 7800 XT is back in the 28-30 W range, as well. With 24.1.1, it was 10 W. What's going on?

I think they rushed it out before it was ready. It could also be based on a different code base than 24.1.1 due to AMD Fluid Motion Frames.
Mine is sitting between 7-11 watts with Adrenalin control panel open. But if I enable MPO it goes up to 28 Watts.

Possibly. I'm back on 24.1.1 for now. Let's see if they fix again what was fixed before in the next version.
