My internet goes out. neighbors don't

Lately my internet has been going down, however my neighbors internet is fine. We called our ISP and they aren't reporting any problems in out area. Could this be a problem with our like 10 year old cable modem not getting the network through??

Should we switch to this.

My first modem with Charter rebooted every time there was light thunder. It did fine with hard thunder though for some reason. Have them replace your modem as a start.

Easy! Go to best buy and buy a new one. If that fixes the issue then awesome.

If it doesn't, then return it but if it does fixes it, keep the one from best buy, RMA the bad one, and hope the bad one shows up within the 30 days.

See if you can borrow your neighbor's modem for as long as it takes for your internet to usually go down. Also check your transmit/receive power levels. Splitters have different impedances. I have to make sure my downstream receive power is -15 to +17dBmV.
