NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today an addition to its high-end IT desktop line, the MultiSync EA Series, with the 22-inch EA224WMi. This performance-driven monitor is designed for enterprise clients in the corporate, financial, healthcare and government markets.

The IPS panel of the EA224WMi provides wide viewing angles, outstanding color consistency and image accuracy. LED backlighting technology allows a thinner, lighter and sleeker design, as well as higher power efficiency. The EA224WMi's touch-sensitive controls enable simple display adjustments through the On Screen Display (OSD), while its integrated smart sensing technology includes ambient light and human sensors to automatically determine the proper display brightness and detect work conditions, both of which reduce power consumption and prolong product life. The unique ControlSync feature offers an ideal solution for multi-screen setups of up to six MultiSync EA Series monitors.

"The EA224WMi reinforces our next-generation MultiSync EA Series purpose of serving the needs of performance-driven users," said Lynn Gu, Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions. "This new monitor is a perfect complement to our enterprise lineup. It provides a premium-grade panel, award-winning design and maximum connectivity, including DisplayPort and HDMI, which allow businesses to work smartly and productively."

The MultiSync EA224WMI includes the following features:
  • 21.5-inch, 16:9 IPS panel with LED backlighting
  • Wide viewing angles of 178°H/178°V
  • 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution
  • 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (1000:1 typical)
  • Ergonomic adjustable stand with 130mm height-adjust, tilt, swivel and pivot
  • DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-D and VGA D-Sub inputs
  • Integrated 4-port USB 2.0 hub (two rear, two side)
  • Integrated speakers (1W x 2)
  • ControlSync for multi-screen setups
  • Smart sensing technology (ambient light and human sensors)
  • ECO Mode, carbon footprint meter and cost meter
  • ENERGY STAR 5.1 compliant

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just as the industry is moving to HIGHER resolutions, and we were waiting for NEC to be a leader and introduce a nice 2560x1440 in 21,5"-23" IPS, what do they do? Go backwards in resolution to "xbox consumer" format y1080. :shadedshu

The MultiSync EA224WMI includes the following features:

21.5-inch, 16:9 IPS panel with LED backlighting
Wide viewing angles of 178°H/178°V
1920 x 1080 full HD resolution

21.5" at 1080p, at least the pixel pitch should be tight making for sharp images.

woow, this is perfect, an affordable IPS monitor from NEC, this is the one to get. i like small screens with high DPI (kinda) like this one, 1080p is perfect for this small size, i can get rid off AA in games.
