Need a multi-file Video Converter software

Hello Everyone,


So I am in the market for a new video recoding software. I've tried alot, and I'm tired of all these crap video encoding software, that either forces to pick 1 file at a time, or just flat out sucks. I have both an Xbox and a Zune, so being able to have good software for resizing HD and tv episodes for the Zune is what I am after.

I gave Xillsoft a chance, but I just was not happy with the errors it kept giving me. However, I did like how I could select all my files, set the resolution one time, and click, and be done with it. If I could get another program like this, it would be gold.

Total Video Converter lets me queue my files all at once, but then I have to manually put in the setting for each file. VERY annoying.

Handbrake and Videora are alike in that I can add only 1 file at a time. Very annoying.

So I need a new software to try out, that can multi queue, and not have to click a bazillion settings in order to properly recode all my files, can do HD resolutions, and have a decent GUI.

Please let me know if you have any options. I'm willing to pay on this one.

I'm using a combination of Cyberlink Powerdirector (pretty crappy) for acquiring video and TMPGEnc Express for compression which is ok as it's first time i see a software working with all my 4 cores

Any Video Converter may fit very well your needs and the basic version is freeware. Very complete and convenient IMHO and relatively fast, although probably not the fastest one out there. It's faster than some comercial converters I have tried anyway. Give it a try, as I said it's free.

Eg, 10 episode of House, all at 320x240?

You tried reinstalling Xilisoft and updating? I've never had and problems with it and I've done 320x240 & 640x480 MP4 videos for my phone, the VGA ones being at 1200kbps, also done XviD, AVC and HD AVC. Worked on phones/iPods/PSP, 360 and PS3.

Free Zune Video Converter 1.0, ftw...

I encoded multiple seasons of Top Gear with this sucker. It is fast, not buggy, it encodes brilliantly with great quality.

Later I went on the internet, and I found this.

No, its not pron, but a guide that will tell you exactly what to do! Just skip the whole DVD decrypter part. Another word of caution, if you don't have a Zune 80 or 120, dont waste your time like I did and encode in H264, the old Zune 30s don't support it, plus WMV2 is fine at that low of a resolution and screen size.
