i need a software which would set my xigmatek orange fans to around 60% when i boot into windows. and it should stay at that speed.

its hooked up to the motherboards 3-pin connector and if i use the asus q-fan control it would kick into max after the cpu rises above a certian point. i want it to stay at 60% all the time.

i use speedfan to do it manually but it dosent seem to work at boot. can anyone help :) thanks

its used as a exhaust on the case

Hi IINexusII.

Error 404 has been asking for a software alternative to Speedfan http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=101929, I myself have not been able to find one, except for the MB utilities.

You might have to go to a hardware fan controller, if the stuff you tried did not work the way you wanted.

Something like these, maybe...

These guys say they ship worldwide at no extra cost, have never used them but great price and free shipping:http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5986

oh ok thanks viper, ill be getting something like that or a zalman fanmate then

Most motherboards have a option in the bios to controll what % you want to set the fan speed at unless you dont have them plugged into the motherboard.

mines got a controller onboard but its controlled by the temp of the cpu so kicks in after it goes over 40c which sucks.

il try the resistor cable too

if you really wanted to on the mobo or molex connector of the fan you could just pull out the sensor wire and the fans will run 100% all the time......or you could cut the wire so if you wanted to hook it back up later you could. just an idea.
