I want to know on Asus motherboard like mine M4A785-M what is the use of the 4 wires ont the fan. Whoch one is + , - , Temperature sensor, etc.....

I know theres the ground, the positive, the rpm monitor and the rpm adjuster but wich one is which color ?
Thank you

Depends on the fan, but usually, red and black are positive and ground. on a 3-pin, the red pin would be the middle, and the black on the left if looking at the fan connector with the two rails pointing up. the other pin, usually yellow (i've seen blue too) is rpm sense. The 4th pin, the one on the odd end is speed adjust. On intel fans, black is ground, yellow is power, green is sense, and blue is speed adjust.

again, it all depends on the fan maker.

EDIT: On my phenom ii AMD fan, black is ground, red is power, blue is sense, and yellow is speed adjust.

Here, the way you put the fan on, the far left pin is speed adjust, then sense, then ground, then power on the right.

yup the 3 pins is blue sense on mine. So in fact if i understand the sense and the rpm have the same use its just that one is shown in numbers and other send voltage to be interpreted by mobo ...but they do in fact the same job

btw necro you have been lucky to unlocjk your 550BE ive got the same stuff as you but nothing work hehe

Actually, the mobo sends a PWM signal to the fan on the 4th wire. The 3rd wire gets pulsed by the fan to the mobo once every motor rotation.
