Hello everyone,

I need help choosing a Windows laptop that I would use as a secondary machine, considering I have a desktop computer (Intel i5 12400F, Nvidia RTX 2060 MSI VENTUS XS 6G OC, Kingston Fury 32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16, Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN570) which perfectly meets my needs for graphic design (Photoshop and Figma) and gaming (CS2).

I would use the laptop mainly when traveling, so I don't want to overspend on it since I don't have much experience using laptops. My average workday includes Photoshop with a few not too demanding tabs, Slack, Dropbox, YouTube, and several tabs in Chrome. However, I don't want a laptop that will limit my work; I need something that will ensure smooth performance without slowing me down. Since my desktop runs Windows, I prefer to use the same operating system on both machines for consistency and ease of use.

Thank you in advance for your help.

What size?
How much battery runtime do you need?
What is your budget?

My budget is not strictly limited; I am willing to pay as much as necessary to meet my needs, but I do not want to spend more money than necessary. An approximate budget I currently have in mind is $1,000 to $1,200. 15''/14''. I am not sure about battery, but something average.

Thanks for the additional information. I no longer hit the road so do not keep up with laptop technologies. Everyone has their favorite brands. My current laptop is a MSI i7 with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. I get about 3 hours of battery runtime which is plenty for my use so it serves me well. Yet others will report MSI they have problems. I say, name a brand, and others will report problems with it.

No doubt someone will be by shortly with some good suggestions for you.

In terms of windows for professional use, if price is right then maybe have a look at the Lenovo Yoga pro 7i series 14" or 16" if you can afford it.
You should be able to get a 14" Yoga pro with the new intel Ultra 7 or 9 CPU, 16-32GB ram, RTX 4050/ intel arc with a 3K OLED 500nits or IPS 400nits.
