So I got a second GPU I want to run as PhysX but everytime but I haven't even been able to even get as far as both being detected at the same time. Drivers keep on deleting themselves, Windows being stuck in an infinite boot loop, and the system resetting itself whenever I just tried to enable the second card in device manager are just some issues I've had with it. It's an Nvidia card so it should be fine to make in run as a PhysX in the Nvidia control panel.

What GPUs exactly are we talking about?
Does each GPU work as standalone?
What driver versions did you try?

I tried the latest drivers for both and both work on their own. My main is a 1080 ti and the second is a Quadro 2000.

Try game ready 391.35.

Newer versions won't work for the second card because fermi support got dropped some time ago.

Also, I'm pretty sure Quadro 2000 isn't fast enough to do PhysX for GTX 1080 Ti.
(ie. GTX 1080 Ti can do it by itself, and still be faster than 1080 Ti + PhysX GTS 450 combo).

I thought someone necroed a thread from 2006 when I read the title, why on earth would anyone want to run a dedicated physx gpu in this day and age???

Better question is how do I do it?

1) You use driver that supports both Quadro 2000 and GTX 1080 Ti (probably moded driver will be needed)
2) You buy different card for PhysX (one that is supported by latest drivers)
3) You give up on the idea and stick to single GTX 1080 Ti.

I recommend the last option.

What driver supports both. Just having the latest 1080 ti driver didn't do the trick.

There isn't any.
Quadros series and GeForce series, use seperate driver packages.
Even when downloading stuff from NV site you must go through different stuff to get to them.
You didn't noticed this ?

Still, you MAY be able to mod driver to work, BUT you still need one that supports both Fermi cards and GTX 1080 Ti as "base" driver.
Regardless, it's a really dumb idea to use GTS 450 card (ie. Quadro 2000) as PhysX with GTX 1080 Ti, you will lose performance because GTS 450 won't be anywhere near fast enough to process PhysX data for GTX 1080 Ti for it use (keep in mind, it has to go through PCI-e 2.0 slot as well).

I knew they used different drivers but the issue is installing both drivers also didn't work. Just made everything go wrong.

NV Driver is like a woman :
It cannot fathom you may need more than one (GPU driver), to be happy.

So how do I fix all of this then?

Physx takes no gpu grunt on anything more than a geforce 400 series gpu and only a handful of old games support it, pointless task

Cool, so how do I do it then?

It will automatically be enabled on physx games, not sure if you're serious or just being a troll at this point

I'm serious, so how do I do it as it's not just automatically enabled and I can't get the system working properly with both cards.

Pull out Quadro card, check PhysX settings in NVidia control panel (set it to GPU) - The End.

Your need a graphics driver that supports "" BOTH CARDS"" and if its updated it will break it ( so no win 10 :)...)

Physx is dead, Quadro and 1080Ti are diffrent family of cards, different drivers required.

Just pull the quadro out
