This is copied and pasted from a different forum.

Hello, today i finished building my 3rth setup. And i have come across a big issue.

Gpu not working.

Setup:
Ryzen 5 1500x
Asus prime a320m k
Ballistix 2x8 gb 2400mhz
corsais VS550 80plus

Gpu: asus rog strix rx480gb.

Ive tried all sorts of solutions except flashing the vbios. This is what i tried and what my problem is.

The gpu fans spin on startup and shutdown, however 2 seconds after startup its stops spinning and gpu goes in some kind of sleep mode (idk the led lights are still on but it seems as if its in some sort of sleep mode.) It doesnt detect my whole screen but only half of it, also am getting a code43 in device manager. On my motherboard there is an led light right next to the gpu's pci slot and its also in a yellow sleep mode (i think that because of the led pattern) ive tried searching in both manuals what this means but cant come up with a solution. Ive tried reinstalling different kinds of drivers but nothing seems to work.

Compatability is not the issue i triple check everything.

Im wondering if someone has come across this problem and has a solution for this.

It can be possible that it is a hardware related problem and ive been scammed with the gpu however gpuz tells that everything is fine. Very weird problem.

Excuse my English, not a native. Please help i really need this done before the 20th or im in trouble. Thanks!

Note: i can work with my monitor if i plug it in my gpu but like i said its still says code 43 and it only seems to detect half of my screen and it is not working properly. Please help thanks.

---Note/update---
Model:
I tried flashing the vbios but atiflash just wont pick up my gpu.

Also when i go in Asus gpu tweaker and go in their gpu-z it says no drivers are installed. When i go in device manager > gpu > properties > history/events (idk what the exact translation is) it says the following: Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_67DF&SUBSYS_04FD1043&REV_C7\4&1da95f35&0&0019 requires further installation.

Even tho drivers are installed.

I am also not able to open AMD Radeon software.

Is the card just rejecting the drivers??? Compatability is not the issue i tripled check everything.

Gpu is getting hot nonetheless.

Any help would be great i really need this problem fix before the 20th because it's a present for a family member who lives in a different country, shipping time is 3 days hence why.

I can't come up with anything better to suggest than this : did you try the RX480 in another computer ? that would confirm or rule out the fact that the card is toasted.....

A friend of mine had a similar problem, swaping the motherboard did it for him. Might work might not. :ohwell:

Bread board the motherboard, psu, gpu, run them out of case.

A repair shop might be best in this situation as they have more resources to test parts.

hehehehe :)

Just tried the gpu in a another pc it worked fine however i never booted, because the system isnt actually compatible but this makes me believe the gpu is not the problem because on the setup it would just stop after 2 secs, so im gonna check if the psu is the problem tommorow by putting a different one in if thats not gonna work then the problem if definetly the mobo.

If anyone has a solution regardless let me know.

Check for any kind of dirt (cat hair and what not) in pcie slot also try different cable and or another output socket on gpu .Have You tried to run it with generic windows drivers only?

Have checked for dirt, my current psu has only one pcie cable so im checking that tommorow with a different psu.

I have both let windows install drivers aswell as manual install if thats what you mean.

Different psu definetly worth a shot, good luck, cheers.

Here is the thread at one other forum so those helping can see what was already done/suggested. ;)
