I just got a new Dell XPS l501x, I did a clean install of windows 7 pro and when I attempt to install the NVidia drivers for the GT 420m it is telling me it cannot find compatible hardware.
I then installed the NVidia driver from Dell's website which worked but it is saying that the NVidia gpu is not attached to the display, instead, the display is using Intel integrated graphics. I can see both in the device manager, but I cannot get the GT 420M to work properly. Any Ideas?

Thank You. :)

Hmm, I did some more searching, I found out it was doing this because of Nvidia's "Optimus" crap.
I can't find a way to work around it :(
If I disable the Intel graphics in the device manager, then the Nvidia GT420m doesn't work.
Both have to be enabled.
I have also checked the BIOS and there is no option to disable anything that would help.
