Hello I am going to build a new gaming pc and would hope to get some good feedback on people who have used same hardware config, and if I could do beter using other cpu ect. first off i'm looking to go no higher than 3100.00 the motherboard I really want to use the xfx's 790i with OCZ3P16004GK 2x2 gb memory, ZALMAN ZM1000-HP Continuous 1000W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.91 Modular Heatpipe-Cooled SLI Power Supply, here is where i'm in need of suggestion's thought about using the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz cpu dont see spending the extra cash for the E8500 3.1ghz buty am willing to spend a little more if the quad cores are better, was thinking of a pair of XFX PVT98FYDBU GeForce 9800 GTX Black Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card in sli mode for the graphics, and a
ASUS MK241H Black 24" 2ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor with 1.3M Pixel Webcam 450 cd/m2 DC 3000:1 Built in Speakers for the display also want to know i want to use vista ultimate 64 bit so if i buy the full retail i should get both i think, already have a zalman fatality case as well as the fatality fps soundcard from my last build also plan on 2 raptor 10000 rpm either the 74gb or the 150 havn't made mind up, hope this build looks good to go as far as compatibilty as well as through my side window, all my hardware will have a 1 year extended warranty, and haven't thoght about water cooling it. well can tis setup work?

sure it'll work. I would guess it'll score about the same as my rig in benchmarking. At stock settings, I score just over 15,000 in 3dmark06, with my OC's, I have scored as high as 19,870. I can play any game on very high settings at 1920*1200(Crysis, Assasin's Creed, CoD4).

That is honestly the biggest run on sentence I think I have ever seen anywhere! Your old English teacher would faint!

Your selections sound good to me. I think if you shopped around you wouldn't spend all of the $3100. What do you mean by "i want to use vista ultimate 64 bit so if i buy the full retail i should get both i think"? Are you saying that you think you will get the 32 bit and 64 bit versions? I'm curious to know the answer to that one too.

been schooled

Yeah, I graduated in 1985 and it's been along time my teacher hated me then and he would hate me now, I did get along with my female teachers though. lol thanks for thr info.

When you buy the retail version of Vista Ultimate, I am pretty sure they supply both discs, 32 and 64 bit. If they dont, they do give information on obtaining the 64 bit no charge. You will still only have one license, so keep that in mind.

I work at CircuitCity and half way remember last time i cracked open a retail Ultimate it had 2 dvds in it, one 32 and one for 64
