I'm about to upgrade my PC kit and I gotta make sure the all in one cooler I select will fit into my case. So here are my questions:

  1. Can the H220-X AIO cooler (or another model) fit into my NZXT PHANTOM EATX case (purchased in 2010)
  2. What kind of an Overclock is achievable on a i5 4690k? (using a good AIO cooling solution)
  3. Is there a tangible difference (for gaming) between an i5 4690k OC vs i7 4790k OC? worth the $$ or not?
  4. If I can't mount the AIO on the top of the case, is it possible to mount it at the bottom? Would I need longer tubes, would it affect pump performance? is it even advisable to do it? (mount it @ the bottom of the case)
  5. I intend to use an MSI gaming GTX 970 4gb card (single card) in this case and I MODDED my saide panel to allow for a bigger window for me and others to be able to look Into the case and see the cool hardware and lights I got... So I CANNOT have a side fan blowing on the GPU (which, because it's a non-reference model will be blowing the heat out into the case instead of OUT of the case)... so this #5 question is this: Is there a "Smart" way to position the AIO cooler and choose specific FAN configurations (push pull, pull pull, bigger RADs etc...) to make sure I'm not gonna kill the AIO performance by sucking in all the Heat brought on by the graphics card? any suggestions or wise counsel?
thanks in advance for your input

1. yes with room to spare
2. this will depend less on cooling and more on the chip 4.6 or better should be (fairly) easily attainable... YMMV
3.if you are heavily overclocking then yes ... else no
4. no the phantom doesn't have bottom mounts for the rad
5. its a non issue the phantom is big enough and the 970 runs cool enough to not even warrant mentioning ...

Since I was beaten to the punch ill just say yes and agree with all OneMoar stated. The H220X should push the 4690K to the limit that you see achievable on average with great temps so I would not worry along with the stated worry about heat from the GPU would not hinder your system. The extra heat from the card will not be enough to make a difference.

well you guys sure seem confident about the rads fitting in the case, I found 2 threads with over 20 pages of NZXT phantom cases who have had problems...
Space is not the issue here... if I read correctly, MOUNTING is the problem with my case (I'll do some more research and come back)

the mounting on the full sized phantom has slides and slotted mounts its nearly impossibly to find a rad that can't be mounted
at worst you might need some longer screws

In fact I've done some more research and it appears I can mount those kits at the top in my case "using brackets that came with the case"...
which I'm afraid my version might not have come with... I happen to keep everything and I have yet to see the damned "brackets"...

maybe the newer versions of the Phantom cases come with it, but I'm not sure about mine. I'll do some more research, worst scenario I'll order the flipping brackets lol

EDIT: Have any of you had experience before with buying the AIO kits from swiftech's website (think it's US based) but I live in canada...

so I'm a little worried there might be surprise Custom Fees when it gets here. Gotta make sure I know what's coming before I actually order from them. And how much of a difference is there between an h100i vs the h220-x? (the h220-x does look really high quality with flexible and multiple configurations, I do like that)

if you are missing brackets try pming
@xD3aDPooLx He will hook you up
I think the brackets come prep-attached tho ..

Yeah, you'll get customs fees. Any shipper besides USPS will charge fees for handling customs for you. USPS does not, and you only pay whatever taxes are due, but most places do not offer USPS as shipping option.

H220X is MILES better than H100i.

So why not order from NCIX?

another quick question:

How good are the fans that come with the swiftech h220-x?
Are they noisy?

Would you replace them with different fans? and if so, which ones?

Generally the fans that comes with them are decent enough to get the job done. I would not worry much unless you have a strong desire for slightly improved fans which depending on the brand could bring a degree or so difference depending on the speed and how good they are at pushing the air.

I would first get the cooler and test it for yourself before investing any more money into fans that way you can make the decision otherwise you may find you wasted a bit of money on something you did not need. I have heard already good things about this cooler and the fans along with very little in the complaint department including finally seeing one in person and it honestly was just fine as is.

Some people say Helix are as Gentle Typhoon but I don't believe in that.
I decide to try Swiftech H220X... because I need money for X99 and no enough to build and expensive custom loop and X99.
I will sell H100, 1/3 of H220X price will be covered... Friend send me message to call him when become available in some big retailers in Europe.
Alternate, Caseking and similar....
If someone who tested many AIO say it's good than worth to try.
I only don't like because Swiftech make Helix in white color.
I can't survive white details inside PC.

Question about the kraken x61. Can I put it in a push pull config? If so, should I mount it at the top or front of the case? Is it even possible to mount it in the front of an NZXT phantom case?

If I mount it at the top, should it be pulling air into the case or exhausting air out of the case?

Exhaust is better.

Exhaust is better.
I have a problem lol.«

Kraken x61 is not compatible with my phantom case. I took for granted that it would be since they're both the same brand. NZXT case + NZXT cooler...
But the holes on top of my case are for 120mm rad fans, not 140mm... this rad (from x61) is a 280mm rad...

any suggestions, or should I just return the x61 (restocking fees involved I guess) and order something else?

If you need cooler now immediately 240mm (2x120mm) than you can replace for some CORSAIR Hydro series.
Best H105 maybe. But I would wait 2-3 weeks for Swiftech H220X.
H105 is same design as Kraken I think, better than H100 and H110i and I would replace for him.
But Swiftech H220x worth of waiting.

You mean H240-X and yes it is worth waiting.

No I mean on this H220X

http://www.swiftech.com/H220-X.aspx

Because I will easy replace fans in black color or some other.
Some Chinese site sell Gentle Typhoon 2150 RPM, original fan everything same only with 4pin and sleeved.
H220X is 240mm
H240X is 280mm
