I bought a Linksys BEFSR41 v4.2 yesterday and I can't get it to work with BF2142. I used to run a WRT54G in BF1942 with no problems...but I keep getting disconnects from EA master server. I tried DMZ, and there is only 10 fields for port forwarding (even though it's not needed unless you're hosting...)
So....what router should I get? I don't mind paying the price for performance, but any extra encryption or VPN tunneling options aren't needed.
Here is one that I hear is good:

But is it really worth the price?
What routers are you guys running with BF2142?

have u ever ping'd EA server to see if the disconect is at ur end or their end....only reason i ask is a buddy cant play TW07 cuz EA server boots him....EA knows this issue exists...check in the forums there!

Well I just got this one but its Out of Stock (ETA:05/14/2007)
BUFFALO WHR-HP-G54
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16833162134

I have two comps on Ethernet and one laptop wireless right now and have'nt had any problems also BUFFALO has 2yr. Warranty & 24/7 tech Which I used to setup wireless :o

The Belkin MIMO range is fast, good overall and reliable imo.

Well I bought the BEFSR41 Linksys router and that sucked for gaming, so I returned it and bought a D-Link (can't remember the model entry level home router. It works like a charm without having to forward any ports other than my bittorrent port. It has a gaming mode as well. :D

WHR-HP-G54.

this is aguably the best router out there after you install DD-WRT on it.
my config is
+WHR-HP-G54
+DD-WRT V23 SP2 mini (i use mini becouse i need the JFFS space)

pm me if you do get one. i can help you with a few things...
