Need suggestions on a new keyboard

So, my sidewinder x4 started disconnecting on me today. I move it around a lot and the wire is most likely frayed where it enters the keyboard. I took it apart but don't really know how I would go about fixing it since I can't see where the broken wire is. I would prefer to just fix this so if anyone knows how to do that I'm all ears.

In the mean time I am looking for another keyboard. I essentially want it to be as close to this one as possible, hopefully wireless so I don't have this issue again. I wish they still sold this one.

The features I need are backlit, media keys, wrist rest, and preferably macro keys and a calculator key. I'm not interested in mechanical switches.

EDIT: Well, I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before. I just taped the wire to the back end to keep it from moving around and it's working, so far. Funny thing is my monitor is very funny with the connection also and I've had that taped to the base for over a year.

Sounds like you got your fix, but why no Mechanical keys?

If you are still looking I would check into the Corsair K30 or Logitech G105. They fit all your needs and I am 99% sure they are not mechanical.

He is probably not interested in mechanical because of the settle in time coming from a membrane one, quite understandable, myself having the same problem here.

Yes, do look at G105, nice entry level unit with three year warranty. Should last you a long time.

i love the mech now......i tryed to convert years ago but went back to the older style of KB (logitec g series) , then only just of late went and bought the Corsair Gaming K95 RGB mech and have never looked back, yeah it took me a while to get used to but im very happy now.

Ha ha, this might be applicable for me as well. Just got myself a K70 Reds and finding it really difficult to type fast and accurately but just three days I am using this, after using my G15 for over six and half years or so. How long did it take you to get used to the mechanical feeling coming from membrane?

A few months to get used too.....i found it a very loud and clunky that was my only gripe.....click click click clunk clunk clunk while gaming....im not much of a fast typer...im a pro touch typer :p

I more of a gamer keyboard basher then one who needs it for actual typing.
