So I am wanting to get some kind of decent speaker system for my PC without breaking the bank. Maybe $150 CAD max. Any suggestions?

By speakers do you mean stereo or 2.1?

Logitech Z625 THX certified 2.1 set on my rig.. no complaints

Creative Gigaworks T40's are around $150 cdn and have phenomenal bass for their size, also no complaints on the audio quality I have both a set of T20's and T50's the latter having bluetooth connectivity but also come with an auto off feature, the T20's and T40's have a manual on off knob and will stay powered on.

2.1 would be ideal but whatever would work decently. I'm not super picky as my hearing is pretty bad from sitting in a server room for 15 years.

Thanks for suggestions so far everyone.

Unfortunately that's over budget by over $100 CAD.

We get screwed on prices for electronics.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1

You might find used or NOS They have been around for 15 years

I used to have a pair and sold them, I use motitors now but honestly I would like to have the Klipsch 2.1 back.

Maybe these within your tight budget. Assuming you can find them in stock somewhere/

These also look promising for the price.

Fair enough.

How loud and how often (loud) do you plan to use them? Consumer expectations of sound out of the box compared to reality of speaker cone break in is actually a larger factor in purchase than many consider. You don't want speakers that will get flabby and distorted from use going well beyond office background music levels if that is their primary usage.

Meaning I wouldn't dismiss the lower end of your budget. Meaning never shop sound based on price. Which should also be considered to mean the one or two suggestions I might've offered appear to be discontinued or their Asian manufacturer is on less than outstanding terms with NA distribution channels. :)

This will be a main audio setup for a small gaming setup with PS5, PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Sega and what not. So something half decent but that also can do a 3.5mm connection too.

I am not super picky but I am just sick of crappy speakers that are hollow sounding and end up crackling audio after a bit of use.

The Creative Stage 2.1 that @oxrufiioxo suggested seem to be very much close to what I am looking for but I am unsure their quality.

I seen these at Mem Ex one day at work for like $99. Should have picked it up.

I use these same speakers.

I recommend saving up an extra 100 and getting these... truly makes gaming more immersive. @sepheronx

ill take that into consideration. So you say they are much better than the creative ones mentioned?

I don't personally care for them They get loud and have a ton of inaccurate base if that sounds appealing to you.... Basically just noise makers. The similarly price Klipsch pro media 2.1 sound quite a bit better although I believe the model available today is also a downgrade vs what's available today. I disliked the Z625 so much I donated them to goodwill lol.

Vs the creative hard to say but I doubt they are worth nearly double the price.

Edifier R1700BT

If later you wanna 2.1, add woof.

I think maybe you had the sub positioned wrong or something, mine sound 10/10. I have a hardwood floor, also I turn the dial on the right speaker to 11am instead of noon

the right knob, you probably had yours at noon or 1pm, and the bass does sound bad then, noon is default, but at 10am/11am, it slams and goes very deep, while making vocals even clearer.

I am also impressed by how wide the soundstage is, sometimes I even look off far to the left and or right, and I am like how in the fuck did it make sound come from over there...

@Norton what is your bass knob at? noon default? 11am?

Oh I thoroughly tested them just didn't care for them..... I did get them pretty cheap though the new MSRP of 199 is a joke for that level of sound.

I much prefer the Klipsch pro media 2.1 I actually still have a set in a box as a backup in case one of my other 2.1 system goes out.

I got mine for $85 on a lightning sale I think in 2017 or 2018, don't remember. It's possible you got a bad unit, because they sound amazing to me, and I have heard a lot of speakers.

Could have been but my buddy got some also and he returned them for the same reason. For me they just sound much worse than the Klipsch that are usually either the same price or cheaper.

I'm sure someone picked them up at my local goodwill for 50 bucks and is enjoying them.

All the logitech speakers sound like tin cans to me, ive been using the Klipsch 2.1 for years as well although recently came across this yamaha sound bar that looks interesting for the PC

The biggest reason I didn't mention the Klipsch to the OP is they are out of his budget and I've also read a recent revision they downgraded the sound so for all I know they sound just like the Logitechs now......

Edifier is edifying :p

I saw them being sold for $99 in costco, I would not doubt klipsch cutting cost on them. They freaking bought every other canuck speaker maker out there to cut down their competition in past 15 or so years.

The Logitech G560 are overpriced but they are better tuned than the Z625... They are the only Logitech 2.1 I like.

Honestly at this point people are better spending that money on a decent soundbar vs around 200 usd on speakers that should cost half that.

They are nice but their decent set is around 400 usd way out of the OP budget.

The S350DB are pretty sweet though.
