Alright so I need a new cooler, the stock ryzen cooler has been in use for far too long.

Which would you choose and why? and any reviews comparing them would be extremely helpful.

I wouldn't choose any of those but, the AIO will kill both those air coolers.

If that AIO is in your budget........that.

£50 budget what would you choose, ideally black and white.

price shows 70 pounds on Amazon UK for the one you want... and I wouldn't trust ID brand with water...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/DEEPCOOL-M...UTF8&qid=1529879359&sr=1-3&keywords=aio+120mm

that one... or save up for Noctua AM4 or Corsair 240mm, preferably the new 2018 240mm models, the gen 6 asetek pump is prob the only pump i am willing to trust with high end gear at this point.

there is honestly nothing wrong with the stock ryzen cooler, just set a stronger fan curve for it in BIOS. just my two cents anyway

@ OP: do you happen to have any old Noctua cooler? If so, you can order yourself an AM4 mounting kit for free, assuming the cooler is compatible for it since not all are.

I'm using a discontinued Noctua cooler myself with my Ryzen setup and i still got to request an AM4 mounting kit, for free.

Regardless of what cooler you end up with, be careful removing the stock cooler so this doesn't happen to you.

The AIO for sure. Because it's better in just about every possible way. Doesn't matter the brand either. Asetek(or another equally reputable manufacturer) made the parts you need to worry about. And there's no reason to worry about parts made by Asetek(or another equally reputable manufacturer). Point being ID Cooling didn't make the thing(except maybe the fans). They said "make it look like this, and put our name on it".

I wouldn't choose any of those air coolers and we refuse to install any CLC type AIO even when brought in pre-purchased.. Never seen a CLC ever that can compete with similarly priced air cooler in both thermal and noise performance. Just about every CLC uses mixed metals and with the aluminum rads, they require extreme speed fans to compete with the better air coolers.

Here we see (17:28) the Noc NH-D15 outperforming the H100i by 2C ... but it needs to be more than 11 times as loud to get that close.
Noc vs H1ooi

Here we see (23:15) the Noc NH-D15 outperforming the H100i by 3C ... and again it still needs to be more than 11 times as loud to get that close.
Noc vs H100i

Advance to 23:45 and you see the OLC type AIO w/ copper radiator on the Swiftch H240 AIO deliver 10C lower temps than the h100i and 5C lower than the Kraken at comparable noise levels.

Wanna see what 60 db+ sounds like ... it's leave the room loud.

H100i Sound test

Yes the Noc air cooler and the Cryorig are almost as pricey ($90ish here in US) as the the CLC type AIOs but you can get a Scythe Mugen Max here for $37 ... or a Scythe Fuma which match or outperform the Noc and Cryorig models.... f Here's the Mugen Max (black fan) and conversion kit for MA4

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scythe-SCA..._2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1529958526&sr=1-na

The Fuma is £55.43 and the conversion kit is £9,82 . The new Rev B comes with the AM4 socket compatibility by PCpartpicker lists no sellers with it in stock. The B is available in US for $45
https://www.amazon.com/Scythe-FUMA-...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1529958608&sr=1-1

Mugen 5 B is available so others should be too

Another perty option in all white but over budget

Also this can't happen w/ an air cooler ... don't see it too often but it does happen.

Leaking H50

Keep in mind that most of our machines are water cooled using custom loops or OLC type AIOs from Swiftech or EK. Just can't see the logic of popping $150 with an aluminum rad, mixed metals, high noise, no expandability , weak (0.11 gpm) pump, performance drop off over time due to galvanic corrosion when for the same price I can get a OLC type AIO from Swiftech that has a copper rad, no mixed metals, no risk of galvanic corrosion / performance drop off, lower noise, better temps, 10x the pump flow, higher pressure, can add more blocks and rads whatever to loop . Unfortunately, availability of Swiftech units is UK is poor. Also way of your budget. The best option I see for you is the Scythe units in the £40 to £65 range

If ya wanna see what mixed metals in a loop does ... WARNING: graphic photos may be disturbing to nerd and geek types resulting in physical symptoms or emotional damage. :)

No quality reviews on the AIO ... all i could take away with confidence was pump and fans on this and similar models from this manufacturer are "far too loud" and component quality is low compared to other CLCs.

Mugen 5 is a good cooler but I would not get the PCGH version because it's fans are only 800rpm.

All the AIOs being suggested are CLCs and CLCs are no better than air coolers but cost more, generally make more noise, don't last near as long and when they go bad it's almost always the pump .. meaning a new cooler must be installed before system can be used again. With air coolers there is only the fan to go bad and the will often work at low load with no fan or any fan can be held on with rubber bands until suitable replacement is in hand.

There are many other very good air coolers in the £40-55 range.
NH-U14S is about £55 .. fins reach 75mm from center CPU
Macho Rev. B is about £46 .. fins reach 70mm from center CPU
Mugen 5 is £43 .. fins reach 70mm from center CPU
Eroboss £53 but I don't like it's fan .. fins reach 70mm from center CPU
Lucifer V2 £29.99 while not as well know cools as well as Mugen 5 .. fins reach 73mm from center CPU
all are on Amazon
All will clear tall RAM in front of CPU, but only NH-U14S will clear tall RAM behind it.

NH-U14S is arguable the best but is 150mm wide so make sure you have 75mm clearance from center CPU toward nearest PCIe socket you plan to use.
Others being about the same.
Hope that helps.

True .. if having CPU at 72c instead of 74c is that important to OP.

I have found the Fuma, Mugen Max, etc. to be at least 2c, usually more than 2c warmer than D15, R1, PH-TC14PE. Besides, you cannot buy a 2nd 1500rpm NF-A15 for NH-U14S .. well, you can if you buy the black Chromax A15, and it's even more expensive. Phanteks changed PH-TC14PE from original 2-piece solder fins to heatpipes to one piece fins over a year ago and there are no test results published anywhere of the new version's performance. PH-TC14PE now come with PH-F140HP_II 1600rpm fans compared to original models used in reviews having 1200rpm PH-F140TS or F140HP 1300rpm fans, so I'm guessing simalar performance to originals. |There are some silver and white PH-TC14PE here in UK, but other colors are sold out at this time. I'm waiting on new stock of black ones to arrive at OcUK myself .. and have been waiting for a month now. :(

Bottom line here is I believe the NH-U14S or if OP has no RAM behind CPU Mugen 5 is best performance to cost coolers suggested so far.

In USA the TRUE Spirit 140 Power at $50 is best cooler value their is .. if your motherboard PCIe is 77.5mm away from center of CPU and you case will clear it's 171.2mm height. ;)
