Can I use mods in RDR2 story mode with the new conditions? Like mods to improve the graphics? For example, Visual Redemption. I asked GPT chat, and they recommended using Lenny's mod loader and not connecting to Rockstar Social Club or Steam, however it's a bit tricky. It says I should disconnect from the internet while playing and deactivate the mods afterward. I saw this in a review in steam, one of the new term says: "• Mods are a bannable offense", so i don't know if its safe to use mods.

Answer right in front of you ?, don't use mods online of any kind. And there is no need to be online in story mode anyways so none issue ?.

Asking GPT chat?, WTF. you been told\warned. Think you might be fighting some thing called common sense.

When you open GTA V or Red Dead, they need to connect with the Rockstar client, and with your Rockstar account, so you are "online" in a way. Next time, if you don't feel like answering or are going to answer rudely, don't do it at all. Also, if your answer isn't helpful, it's obvious you don't have to answer.

So believing everything on the internet now means getting a straight answer from an actual person is automatically wrong. /s

He may have too rude for your fragile feelings but he is right.

He may be right on the subject but his behavior on how he explained it is still far from ideal. It's shit like that that drives people to ask ChatGPT in the first place.

Not everyone qualifies as a frog. :p

Well i guess that you like asking questions and being answered "Why don't you use your common sense", but this is a forum to ask questions and get help with it, so i'm not gonna waste more time reading this kind of answers.

You right common sense is learned by asking questions.

Hey, how about everyone be nice? Good grief people, this user came in here asking for help because they needed some input and guidance. They don't need unpleasantness and attitude.

I believe this applies only to certain online features, specifically the type that allows cheating. The single player stuff is ok. Rockstar allows and even encourages mods with other games in their library(GTAV/GTAO stands out). Any mod which allows cheating in online multiplayer modes is most definitely a bannable action.

Mods are allowed, strictly in single player mode.

As general guidance, games which run completely offline with no leaderboard or social functionality are both mod and cheat safe. Live service and/or always-online games are unsafe and should not be modified. Do not mod or cheat on them. Multiplayer games can vary, always consult their terms, but should by rule be considered unsafe to mod or cheat on. Moreover, any form of game that has anti-cheat software is highly unsafe unless it can be disabled.

Some games may allow tools such as fps unlockers or FOV changers, some may ban for them. They are to be considered, as a rule, to be unsafe, although some developers choose not to take any action if the tool is benign and does not modify the game's logic in any manner. Always do your research and weigh the benefits of risking using any such tools.

There are some mods that are allowed online. Vehicle mods, terrain mods and the like. The catch is, they're only allowed if they apply equally to everyone playing in the session. It's a bit complicated, but that's the general jist.

Thank you Lex for backing me up and do the right thing, we need more people like you.

Thank you Dro, appreciatte you searching for this info, it was very helpful.

If its not already the case I feel any game on steam that uses a anti cheat rootkit, or policies that ban you for modding should be clearly labelled. It is a reasonable assumption to make you cant mod in multiplayer, but some games are online in single player as well. The anti cheat rootkit is on the system all the time once installed, and we dont know for sure if it just sits there idle in single player mode.

Yes, the use of mods hasn't changed. Battleye should be disabled in Rockstar's launcher when you are logged in for single player while using mods. If Scripthook is installed in GTA V, it will shut the game down now if you attempt to load multiplayer (online). I haven't played RDR2 in a while, so I don't know if the latest version of Scripthook does the same for RDR 2. I'm currently playing GTA V Enhanced with mods. Mods need to be removed when playing multiplayer.

Yes, already checked that, ScriptHookRDR2 automatically closes the game if you go to red dead online, thanks for answering <3
