What do you guys think of the NFORCE3-A chipset? i know it is old however i am in the process of purchasing a sempron 2600+ 64-bit version along with a ECS K8 NVIDIA Socket 754 motherboard. The motherboard is temp until i can afford a PCI-E mobo with a Athlon 64.

Will this motherboard be suffecient for some light overclocking? (maybe 1.6ghz to 2.1ghz)

Iam on a strict budget so please understand this as i really dont have the cash to splash out on a Foxconn board!

I will be purchasing the board from ebuyer, the link is below. Also does anyone know if this motherboard will have an AGP/PCI clock lock?

im guess not but it might have or you have limited oc options you should wait and get then everything on socket 939 base

Persionaly, Sempy 2600+ 64bit is the good for OC, but ECS is not good :( .

I think, you have to get MSI NEO platinium or DFI LP UT 20Gb motherboard. MSI Neo platinium is cheaper.

Here is my result, when I OCing sempy 2600+ 64bit :p

Imax, your missing the point. Iam on a tight budget, i really dont have the cash for one of those fancy OC'ing boards, and socket 939 is out of the question because it cost way too much. I suppose i can wait for the prices to drop however iam planning on making my purchase within the next couple of days therefore i need a quick decision.

Thanks for your help though, think i will go with the motherboard i sugguested as i aint got no choice, only mobo i can find for 35 uk pounds.

By the way nice overclock!

Imax, also why does one screenshot say that your running a sempron, yet the other one says your running an Athlon 64?
