I just loades Need for Speed Most Wanted, and each time i try to run the game it automatically restarts my computer. When i get back into windows i get a message stating that my system had just recovered from a serious error. This is the second time i have installed this game, and this game has been installed on my other friends computers and its worked fine on theres.

please help, thank you.

Back down your overclock and see if it works. This game is rough on the video card.

backed it down to stock speeds and still reset my pc... thanks for the advice tho

Take a look at your event log and see if there is anything wrong in there. (right click "My Computer" and go to manage)

If not, then use Driver Cleaner Pro (it's free) and remove you graphics, sound and mobo drivers using the control panel and that, and install the latest ones. Also upgrade DirectX (yes you might have 9.0c but there are different versions of that, get the updator from the M$ website).

If that doesn't work then you may need to format your PC I'm afraid, windows can sometimes chuck out random errors if something goes missing.

sounds driver related, do what jimmy said with driver cleaner pro

It might be a virus?
