HI guy's,

Yes I have a t mobile model of the LG V20 but the AT&T guy unlocked my phone to I guess work with all carriers. Just I tried all available networks but only one LTE works but still as I was out I don't get any data/LTE but I can receive calls and text. Sup here the guy will hopefully fix today or tomorrow

My guess would be, the phone that you have wasnt originally designed for your part of the world so doesnt have/support the required network bands to hook up to the LTE channels that your networks are using.

This tends to happen occasionally if you buy a new phone off ebay or a random independent shop on the high street. These sellers/retailers source phones from countries where it is cheaper so they can sell to you for a profit when you come knocking.

Only thing you can do is get a new phone from a local store that sells handsets that are specific to your country and not from China or India etc etc.

One way to find out -- Go into settings>about phone/All specs>model:

There should be a model number there. Throw that random bunch of numbers/letters into google with the word 'region' and see what that shows.

Mine is the H918 which is t-mobile but he unlocked my phone to which thinks should work on carriers besides sprint and Verizon. Not actually sure if all bands/antennas are there but for only t-mobile (that's what I'm thinking)

Now I could buy a AT&T motherboard... I looked through eBay and found AT&T model for parts only for $30 (only need the motherboard)

Try this, bear in mind not all firmwares interchange between boards/screens

I had tried that but with the att type LINK

Funny when I clicked save it just does not show

Tbh, given the cresspool this phone has turned into (swap batteries, plug on plug batt packs, PCB out), you might just want to settle for a new phone - and a phone that you won't need to mod if i might add...

A52 / Oneplus 7T or similar would work.

No No what does that have to do with not getting LTE working. I understand it might not work bc it's a t mobile brand phone. He again unlocked my phone so there is no excuse as to why it *won't work unless he doesn't know the hardware related things I'm getting at. The motherboard itself is say... A t mobile brand pcb I think/guess or manufacturers just allow you to unlock your phone. I noticed before he unlocked my phone complained it was a invalid sim. This was before he unlocked...

I read something recently about band locking and unlocking it might be something to look into, the whole thing about countries is only partially true as far as I know phones tend to support a multitude of bands and many are available in most countries but certain service providers use specific bands.

What some devices do is enable you to lock to a certain band rather than searching through them all for signal.

I'm probably completely wrong about this all because I barely scanned over the info maybe someone else can correct me or tell you more.

Some carriers don't accept phones from others, things can become problematic in this segment. Unlocking is not always a very straight-forward solution indeed.

So why can't I have it? I even tried to create a access point but when I click save it doesn't save it

How long will LTE 4g last on AT&T

It won't be going anywhere anytime soon. 5G is still new to the market and barely matured yet. Most phones still leverage 4G LTE

Yeah I see though they try to brain wash us for the 5g coverage which is a lie. Like Wi-Fi... 4g has long range lol

I won't get into the technical but 5G was never geared toward range. It's main objective is offering wider bands that can offer more data through put and also taking load off other bands

Just for Comparison on my iPhone 12

4G LTE I can pull 150Mbps down and 50 Up

But on 5G I have seen upto 400Mbps Down and 100Mbps Up

Not all 5g connections are up to those speeds, though. For example, if you live down some distant country / rural location, I've seen people get crapper than 4g speeds on their 5g connections.

Yes, 4 / 4.5g are still the basic norm as of now.

Yeah. Like are previous location we got 1 bar if 2 on 4g lol but now it's full bars

You are correct not all 5G are upto certain speeds but that's also because there are different versions of 5G.

yeah like Verizon which literally runs 90% of their 5g on the 4g bands with next to no benefit, lol.

It's no different than AT&T 5GE which is basically there 4G LTE Advanced
