I installed a cpu heatsink. but the motherboard came with another heatsink for northbridge. But the fan wasnt included. So do I need a Northbridge heatsink or no?

Umm yea.. it will probably fry with out a heatsink.

but the heatsink for northbridge and cpu are right next to each other. what if it doesnt fit? and what kind of fan should i get for that?

You need to leave the NB heatsink on the mobo. it's there for a reason.

BTW what CPU cooler we talking about here ?. As you MIGHT be able install it vertically \ horizontal

Did you remove the original northbridge heatsing? If not, and unless you plan to seriously overclock, you should have no problems.

there was no previous heatsink. this heatsink is like a stand, i think its a vertical fan. i will not overclock.

Are you talking about the CPU heatsink or about the northbridge heatsink? I'm confused

Here's a pic of my motherboard:

The northbridge (marked red) came with that heatsink and, even though i'm overclocking by 536 MHz (CPU is 3 GHz and i have it @3.536 GHz) i didn't add a fan.

Kongol...Please fill out the system specs in the userCP found at the top.

Also I believe you are saying there is a heatsink on the NB but there isnt a fan on the HS. This is starting to be more normal now. Unless we know the mobo in question, there isnt a specific answer. Only temps and stability can tell other than past experiences, that would say for sure if it needs a fan or not!
