NVIDIA has set out to bring the ultimate video and HDTV experience to the PC. Their PureVideo technology has exciting features like acceleration of video decoding, HDTV deinterlacing, Inverse Telecine and a high-quality rescaling engine. In the second part of this 35-page presentation NVIDIA's new DualTV technology is shown. It is the "industry's highest quality dual-analog tuner", according to NVIDIA.

Do nvidia like you wizz, or are you just stealing their brochures?

nvidia doesnt like me it seems (they never get back to my emails, tried at least 5 times in 1 year)
i'm not stealing anything .. those things just appear in my email inbox

before this i mean lately , i thought this site was somtin like ati powerup!. but now i like it more

Wizz, I love the new site colors.

It's hilarious just how bad NVIDIA wants ATI gone, releasing brochure after brochure. Looks like good stuff though, if it all ends up being true. That DualTV stuff has potential.

This brochure sucks! As far as I know, ATi makes the best TV Tuners and stuff like that. That brochure also "forgets" to compare Nvidia's 3D Comb Filter with ATi's....
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/PureVideo/images/PureVideo-24.jpg
They instead compare to the Hauppauge 500 which doesn't even have a 3D Comb Filter
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/PureVideo/images/PureVideo-33.jpg

And having a integrated program guide is a "teleshopping" style feature... I have Internet dear people at Nvidia and also live in the real world, the one with newspapers and printed TV Guides...

Also ATi's new AVIVO tech will allow users to encode videos at 5 TIMES the speed of the Microsoft MPEG encoder, by using the GPU instead of the CPU! And it will be accesible by anyone with a X1K series card for FREE! Nvidia's PureVideo COSTS money. Why the heck should I buy a 500$ video card and then also buy an encoder for it!?! It's like charging money for new drivers... Nvidia is making a fool of themselves if they continue to show us these "slides". I remember the last one that stated that ATi cards are not good because they don't have Nvidia's nTune program!?!?!?! Holy smokes, that's so childish! ATi could say that nVidia has bad multi-monitor compatibility because it doesn't have HydraVision....

yep it was for sure shame , after i saw $$ encoder after payin alot for hw & after usein it i even didn't like gui :shadedshu

btw it is just programin tricks for 5x we just need a little bit time till SW comes (look & EO v homepage )

Isn't ATI's encoder free? You have to pay extra for "pure video"

Well the video coprocessor of my NV40 is broken, so I cant use any of the special video card accelerated encoding

All NV40 cards have the video coprocessor broken, nvidia didnt say anything until about a year after the 6800 series came out. About half of the die on the video card is dead circuits :banghead:

How would I know if it is broken on mine? I installed the encoder and didn't get any error message.

Purevideo will work, but the whole point of it was the gpu-accelerated encoding/decoding. Which is broken on all NV40 (agp 6800) parts.

That SUCKS, nvidia really does half-ass some things. Shader model 3.0, onboard video processor, 7800 series unoptomized, why? Maybe the G71 will change that. Hopefully ATI and Nvidia will work out their really bad problems with the new cores (G71 and R580), because this is pitiful.

LOL... looking at some of those slides makes me laugh... nVidia must be getting really desperate.

"WHY ?" did u ever see purevideo, close ? , it render & pre-render superbly ,
idunno howmany times or layer but output is realy "workout-ed"!!!
but i ain't say it's good though .:wtf:

Well for one... i just love the way they say 'nearest competitor' and it clearly isn't ATI

I know lots of companies do this, but it really pisses me off... since the comparison they're making "isn't" their competitor, it's a figment of someone's imagination. Frankly i find this kind of advertising BS.

Don't get me wrong, nVidia have bought out a lot of great products over the years, and i'm not completely against them, but ATI don't talk such a load of bollocks.

Just my personal opinion.

EDIT: and yes... i have seen purevideo up close... and i cant tell the f'ken differnce.

currently, i'm usein purevideo & mus say i'm not agree with what u imagine .

afa i remember they both tlk in this manner ...
