when it's 2x Faster than a 400W Card... why not.
it's a crazy enthusiast product and not a thing for the average gamer.

Wow amazing, can't imagine it in my house power plant :(

Sure.
2x400w 2x faster than a 400w card 2x the price of a 400W card.
by that logic lower tier cards can go exactly like the enthusiast cards. Why not?
2x150w card 2x faster than a 150w card 2x the price of the 150w card.

If you've been holding on for one of these, I think it's not going to be all that.

Unless you have one of these...

These thing’s are for content creators cause they will have the price to match

Your argument would make more sense if power increases applied only to enthusiast-tier 80/90 cards. However, that will not be the case. We are going to see power increases across the board. Probably a TDP of 250 W for the 4060 and 300 W for the 4070. :fear:

a 770 pulled 200W and overclocked 250W back then.
a 3070 has the same power consumption.

and if my 4070 now pulls 300W who the hell cares? i want FPS for my money... otherwise i can play on a 1030 that just needs 20w.

I was thinking more of the 1070, which pulled only 150 W on average. The 4070 will be twice that. Then again, Pascal was a golden egg of a generation: it offered great perf-per-watt for the time.

As for "who the hell cares", well, most people have a power bill to pay. Not to mention those who live in a hot climate and already feel uncomfortable with the ambient temp as it is.

NVIDIA won't be getting any money from me this generation. It is unlikely that they will be able to deliver anything that will perform way better than my 2060 Super for the same power.

You're dreaming. Two generations newer architecture will absolutely destroy your 2060 at the same power limit.

You're talking to someone whose upgrade cycle normally lasts six years. My last card was an EVGA 750 Ti. The 2060S beats it in performance five-fold while only having about 2x the TDP.

Now tell me, where is this magical card that will have 5x the performance of my 2060S at no more than twice the power?

You didn't say 5x though did you? You said way better.

I should've been more specific, then. We appear to have different ideas of what "way better" means. For me, it is generally 5x or more. Maybe 2x in the context of that original post of mine that you are referring to. ;)

And they are going to release it 6 months before the 5090 just like they did with the 3090ti. Useless card, release it on launch or gtfo

I agree 100%, it's not Nvidia issue at all. If there is a market why shouldn't they sell it? The waste of energy is on whoever buys it, especially if any idiot buys it to play csgo as we all knew it happens.

Making cards everyone uses like the 4060 consume insane amounts of power, that is on Nvidia.

Just put solar panels on roof. it's $100 / 100W initial cost and you get free energy for years, during the day. And how many times this is board power, we don't know what the real power is, like they may have overdesigned it for the <1ms peaks or some reason.

No they can release it right now since it is not the full die. 18432 Cuda would be the one to launch last.

most people with money for solar panels aren't gaming during the day, and least of all when the sun is charging batteries, at most at the time of day the sun is barely charging anything. Or is this oriented to gamer milfs that don't work and got them a rich sugar daddy?

Im sure people worried about their powerbill isn't the target group of this card cause they cant even afford it

Of course it's 2x faster when it's 2x the power consumption.

What we have here is lack of innovation. I'm fed up with the tech industry lately

hurr durr enthusiast grade is no excuse for not innovating

2x the power for 2x the performance within a single generation is fine, as is the case here.

2x the power for 2x the performance between generations is an issue, as is not the case here.

and if people won't stop complaining about power consumption just do what AMD does.
Just show the GPU/VRAM Power Draw and nothing else and et voila your 6900XT just draws 300W and people here start praising its superior efficiency... (even if it's more in the ballpark of 400+ and beyond a 3090.)

Currently I have 1 mora 420 and 1 560rtx rad for my 3090. Maybe I need to buy 2 more mora for 4090ti.

All of these RTX 4000 "leaks" are so obviously nonsensical that it continues to amaze me how many people fall for them.
