NVIDIA TITAN X Pascal used in a PCIe 1.0 x16 ?

I have never had a computer repair shop change the graphics card in a desktop I have owned so I know very little about the process. I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2019 with 16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM, with AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G processor and AMD Radeon™ RX 5500 Graphics card, and a 1 PCIe x16 expansion port. I would like to play Starfield, and am wondering what would be the most affordable graphics card I could buy that would work with my system. Would a NVIDIA TITAN X Pascal be compatible because I see used cards of that type selling for about 200 USD plus shipping. I am aware the NVIDIA TITAN X Pascal has a bus interface of PCIe 3.0 x16 and believe this means a possible/probable bottleneck of performance but don't understand to what degree it might be. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ryzen 5 5600G has PCIe 4.0 support, so there is no problem. Card will work with 3.0 (as it is the standard it supports).

^^what 007 said^^

And BTW, virtually all pcie slots/devices are backwards compatible, so technically, you could run your new card in the x1 slot and it would still work, albeit with way lower performance...

The biggest issue with pre-built mid-tower machines like those is normally space, case airflow and above all POWERSUPPLY

usually pre-builts are made to a budget and because of that, a lot of things that make up the computer can be proprietary/custom made to the brand's specification and HP are seriously no stranger to this... they have custom made cases, proprietary motherboards and power supplies etc etc and I think your setup is heavily customised/proprietary to HP judging by the looks of the motherboard and case they have used.

While sticking a new graphics card in should be a fairly simple process. You should make sure you have enough space. Titan X's measured around 10-11" long and 4-5" wide. Id also suggest trying to get more air flow by adding an extra fan in the front of the case. As far I can see the TG-01 only has one rear 120mm which might be OK for a 5600G and RX5500. It might not be so great with a Titan X although it depends which model of titan they put in your machine. It could be a blower style cooler like this and you could be ok although I would still insist on adding an extra fan if you can.

Power supply is also an issue in multiple ways as HP dont use off the shelf motherboards so an off the shelf power supply might not be compatible and Titan X Pascal can run with a 450w but you should have a 600w just to be on the safe side. My old 1080Ti used to spike to over 600w occasionally. And i doubt HP would have specced a more beefy power supply with your TG-01 especially if it left the factory with a RX5500.

TG-01 case layout -- Usually down the bottom right hand side is where they stick a hard drive. You might be able to attach a fan there. But im not sure where fan will be drawing air from as the front of the case looks pretty restrictive.

In summary - Yes you can do it, Yes its going to take some messing with, yes it could suck but its your money and you decide what you want to do with it.

That's either total system power at wall (which still doesn't into account efficiency of PSU) or your card had power limit raised in some way.
Regardless, blower style cooler card WILL throttle WAY before power becomes major issue.

The Titan X Pascal will work, if your power supply is up for the task and if your case is big enough for it. If your PC is what I think it is, it's a pretty small chassis. You should double check to see if you actually have enough room for a 27cm long card.

Cezanne chips like the 5600G don't support PCI-e 4.0. They're limited to 3.0.
