My HP Revolve 810 G2 appears to be designed to take 1.35V DDR3L-1600 memory. But today I stuck an 8GB DDR3-1333 SODIMM in it. It POSTs (though it gives me a warning about incompatible memory), passed the built in memory test, and boots into Windows and passes the AIDA64 memory benchmark.

This laptop has 4GB of DDR3L soldered to the board in addition to the slot.

Is there any reason I shouldn't run 1.5v DDR3 in this system? It seems to work just fine (other than running at a lower clock speed).

It kind of depends on the CPU and the module. If the module can run at 1.35V, it might work.
Some Intel CPUs can't use higher Voltage memory either. But in your case it seems to work so...

it won't kill the imc if that's what you're asking.

Some of their 4th gen Probooks and Elitebooks will boot with DDR3, but there is a BIOS-level check which will annoy you with "incompatible memory" message at every boot (which is fine if you don't mind hitting a button to continue every time).
Also, it has a strict whitelist not just for PCIe devices, but also for memory. For example, my old Probook 640 G1 would boot with Samsung or Micron DDR3L, but if I use Elpida or Hynix DDR3L - I get the same error message. So, for example, you could buy a kit of cheap and shitty Kingston laptop memory without knowing that you have a 50/50% chance of it working properly (depending on chip manufacturer).

But ultimately - yes, you can use it without issues even with that error message.
