Good evening,
tomorrow ill start on a 60 years old milling machine in the lunch break to make me a custom Cooler for different GPU in the next few days, with 44x44, 54x54 and 59x59mm drills.

The idea is a blower cooler made out of Aluminium and 3 copper heatpipes;)

First part is to to make the basic dimensions (210x90x38mm), raw material is a block of Aluminium with 225x100x40mm.

ill update the thread every evening after i had time to work on, Pictures will follow :D

Edit:
today was a good day, i could use the lunch break and my foreman told me i can work on it the last 2 hours of the day aaaand i took the bigger one but its too nearly 60 years old :rockout:
i forgott to make a photo about then mounting drills, it looks strange:laugh:

I am in favor of hand made and of hard work, but for such projects the automation (CNC of 2010) this is required.

Today i had time:

Yeah the 3rd one is a bit away cause first i would use 4 heatpipes, but i think 3 are enough even the cooler is out of aluminium.

@kiriakost, lol i make this for fun and not cause i can use a cnc too.
2010 are u kidding me our oldest one is a Hermle U1000 from 1999.

Next steps are:
threaded holes M3
making the Finns & chamfers
Buy the Heatpipes
paint em

Hi,
Nice I'm really wondering which gpu needs this monster :D

Interesting project, I'm absolutely interested! :toast:

Looks good!

We have an old leaky okk 630, and maybe the old mori sl-35 can take the place of oldest cnc in the shop. They are from the late 80s early 90s. The okk still has its tape reader lol. Not much for manual equipment here.. an old Bridgeport I think is about all.

our oldest machines are a Deckel FP1 and a Vöst DA180, oldest cnc is like i say a Hermle U1000 from 1999 :)

Hi,
Nice I'm really wondering which gpu needs this monster :D
Ive calculate it as semi blower without Heatpipes, 378w at 81°C (ambient 20°C) with 1 Fan

As soon as the cooler is finished with Heatpipes and painted it would cost regular made out of an cnc for 1 pice about 232,47€
