Anyone buy a open box monitor from Newegg? I'm just wondering if these are all returns due to dead pixels....There are some really good deals, but I don't want to regret it. Thoughts/experiences?

I would be more cautious with open box monitors than most any other hardware. Well except for motherboards. More than likely majority of those are from dead pixels. I wonder if you are able to ask them about it.

yeah, if you contact support can you ask to see if theres deal pixels on a specific monitor? that would be awesome.

I got a 32" lcd tv from newegg recertified. no issues whatsoever. but I haven't done a monitor open box. I'd assume that newegg would check for the dead pixels before sellign it as open box, if it was a problem with it they would ship it back to the manufacuturer to fix and then sell as a refurb.

at any rate if you get one with mnay dead pixels, no worries ship it back and they'll replace it. the only worry is if you get under 8 dead pixels.

its a shame that they even dare to ship LCds with ONE dead pixel

I bought a open box acer 19" from ABC Warehouse its just a whole sale shit hole. But I have had it for about 2 years and no problems. I got it for 120 at the time I think. I got lucky personally I think.

I wouldn't worry about it, newegg has a 14 day return policy on all open box items(or is it 30?). So if it has a dead pixel, just send it back.
