Opera web browser, crackling audio when watching fullscreen YouTube videos

As the titles states I have an issue in Opera where when I am watching YT in full screen the sound is crackly, I have tested in Brave browser and this doesn't happen, I have disabled HW acceleration in Opera, though curiously my GPU usage goes up to 25-28% when watching YT in fullscreen, GPU is a 5600 XT, audio is onboard ALC892 Codec using 6.0.9235.1 driver version, though I'm sure it has nothing to do with the audio drivers as this only seems to be happening with Opera and not in Brave, I'm using the back panel audio and a desktop speaker though the same happens when I switch devices to my front panel and headphones, I'm about to submit an Opera bug report, it hasn't always been like this so could well be a recent update

Test with firefox as well, probably opera itself

I tested with Brave, it doesn't seem to happen with it, so more than likely an Opera only problem, curiously enabling HW acceleration seems to have fixed this and lowered my GPU usage when playing fullscreen YT videos, not sure how that is supposed to work tbh, though HW acceleration may throw up other issues as there was a reason I always disable it, can't think of what that is off the top of my head however

If not using hw (the gpu) it uses software or the cpu and ram to render the clip, if there are any inconsistencies (eg a laptop cpu may drop clock speed temporarily causing the audio glitch or ram timings may be too aggressive) you can end up with glitches, hw accelerated is recommended for most situations.

My system has no issues with Opera fullscreen in youtube with HW disabled.

More like system specific issue. I have used Opera for several years, didn't have such problem. however I used to have Asus Xonar DG sound card, that would randomly start to crackle for no reason. I put it into another PC, it still crackled. Cleaning audio jacks helped for a while and there was something of amber color peeling off near them. After cleaning it still started to do the same, had to junk it. I guess Opera still could have problems with specific system, but that's less likely. I would try to go into flags and try messing with HW acceleration and would monitor CPU usage during video playback in such case, but I would first investigate audio hardware. Besides browsers, I would try some audio files with music player or players, perhaps offline videos too. Audio HW is PITA to troubleshoot, due to randomness of problems.

what ever happened to being quick to blaming DPC latency? :p

could be opera, could be a system (microsloth) driver that gets loaded w/opera.

got mobo vendor audio bloatware?
