Hello,

I am researching and considering installing new doorbells on my house, and would like your opinions on the good/bad/uglies of any popular brands. I've already done some gooooglin, but am seeing some conflicting info among the various brands, so any info based on actual user experiences would be best...

My main concern is security, since they will be connected to my WiFi router, but my setup is well protected, so perhaps this shouldn't be that much of an issue ?

NOTE that I am NOT looking for an uber-complicated, expensive, interconnected security system with multiple cameras everywhere, 24/7 cloud storage and mega-bucks subscription fees that will take a week to get up & running, just 2 basic Wi-Fi doorbells that will send an alert to my phone when someone is at my door and shows me a view of them.... they can be either AC120v powered or battery operated.

TIA for your inputs :D

I've thought about this too, but I am not getting anything that's a bait and switch to be reliant on their service (AKA Ring).
Beyond security concerns w them anyway, you essentially get nothing from them unless you pay per month for their storage.

Consider this a friendly bump for a common interest lol.

Just my opinion.
Ring video doorbells are great... when they work. I have had three of the ring video doorbells just die. I believe from heat... they get really hot, even in winter.
Now, I have a Wyze doorbell and it has been over a year with no problem. Knock on wood.
I don't sign up for the plans after they expire. However, I was one of the pre-buyers in the Wyze doorbell so I got the free plan for life.
Never had an issue with security of the Video Doorbells.

I've had a ring doorbell for over 5 years no issues. I like it so much I'm having one pre installed on the house I am building. It is im the 70s most the year where I live but it does briefly somtimes hit triple digits.

Got a Ring Gen 3 bell on the front, had zero problems with it. Video quality is very good.
