When I look under Computer Management > Device Manager, a device called Coprocessor appears underneath Other Devices, it complains that no driver is installed for it. What is this "Coprocessor" and what should I do? Could it possibly be picking up the embedded GPU in my North-bridge?

Any help Is welcome.

Right click on it in Device Manager and go to Properties. Then go to the Details tab and select Hardware Ids from the dropdown. There may be a couple of them but they'll all be a variant of a base name. Usually typing one of those names into Google turns up information about the mysterious device.

Yeah, I had the same problem on one of my systems with a nVidia chipset; you need to re-install the latest nforce drivers for that chipset.
The co-processor is the part of the cpu the handles certain math functions(calculations) faster then the main cpu could. Usually called a FPU (Floating Point Processor). The CPU will off load any work to the FPU, that the FPU can handle, as needed or as a program requires.

thanks a kajillion!

One more thing, this is bound to increase performance right? in math heavy stuff, also the link you gave me includes graphics drivers but i don;t need to install them if i have a discrete viceo card right? Just making sure, anyways Thanks Alot!

Yeah, the co-processor will help in certain conditions and programs that call on the it.

No, you don't need to upgrade the video drivers, unless it corrects problems, increases frame rate, or helps in some other way. But, you can... GeForce/ION Driver Release 256 - read the release highlights.
