i was just wondering i'm not sure if i have damaged my pci express slot or a have just buggered me gfx card. so i was wondering is it possible to put a pci card into a pci express slot. cause i just wanna check to make sure that i have not broken me pci slot sayin that i could probly buy a mobo for cheaper than a new gfx card lol

you wanna put your pci gfx card in your pci-e gfx port to see if it the mobo's fine?
why don't just put it in a pci slot???

i have a pcie card but it wont work any more after i had a problem with my processor blowing so i just wanna see if it is the slot and if it work with a pci card then i know for certain that its either the card or the slot

DO NOT PLUG a PCI-E card into a PCI slot!!! You will mess up either mobo or card, or both!!

Try the card in a freinds mobo, cheaper in the long run if it's still good.

There's gotta be somebody in Liverpool with a PCI-E slot, maybe even another TPU member!!

No, they are two separate busses, not compatible, and you will f*ck it up if you try, so I guess you have (motherboard that is) from what you mentioned above. It should be almost impossible due to the placement of the bus slots as PCI is closer to the edge of the MB than PCI-E.
