j0 people.

I bought a so-called busted Qtek 9000 (aka HTC Universal and a bunch of others) of Ebay. It was dirt cheap, and it looked like the seller didn't knew much about electronics. He said it was probably some problem with the charging, but he had lost the charger, so I took my chances and bought it (it's just a USB charger). It turned out the battery was missing.

So, I googled a bit and found a battery that was supposed to fit. I got it today, and it looks ok. But here's my problem: When I plug in the charger, a red LED turns on. As soon as the battery makes contact with the pins on the PDA the red LED turns off. This happened with a battery that is told to fit a PU16A device (aka Qtek 9000).

Some more googling showed me a battery that fits a PU10 device (aka Dopod 900 aka Qtek 9000 apparently). The voltage is the same, but it looks a tad bit different and the capacity is a bit different as well. The thing is that battery will cost me the same as the phone, so do you think it's worth a try?

Do the contacts on the battery look different or is the battery just shaped slightly different? If the contacts are exactly the same it's probably not going to work either. Capacity isn't really going to change anything, as far as it working or not, if the voltage is the same.

They look the same. I think it's a bit thicker, but that's about it. There might be something else though as it seems most retailer sell them as different batterys. There also seems to be two different versions of this device and different batterys. :/

Will Google and post findings during the day.

Might be worth a try if you really want the phone and the overall amount you pay still makes it cheaper than retail. That's about all I can say. I'm no phone guru, I just didn't want your thread to go unanswered.

I got it to work! It was a bad flash, so now it works like a charm! :D

Palm Heroes, here I come! :D

Thanks alot. :)
