hi guys just got a 550x2 just wanted to see if i could unlock some cores, worth a try i guessed.
in the options i have

setting : auto, per core, all cores

if i select per core i can set %'s what do these mean and what do they do?

whats the best to set or is it just process of elimination?

Generally auto is the best but some boards use weird combo's to unlock the cores stable. I haven't heard much about the DFI boards luck with unlocking cores but I'd check http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/index.php just to see what you can find about your board.

just downloading a new bios and i will let you know how it goes :)

Glad it arrived, what did you think of the packing? XD

lol was very good matey :) i think a meteor shower could of hit that box and it still would have been good. you get the true in the mail?

still waiting on my bios for a friend to mod it for me. so i will let you know if it unlocks in my board

Yeah its here, not set up yet 1 fin was bent but I sorted it.

Will heatware you asap man.

really!!!!!!! wasnt like that when i sent it matey i promise. btw its also been lapped just so you know maybe not to crystal finish, but been evened out and took the horrible manufacturer standard down to near mirror finish.

Yeah I just buffed it up some more so I could see my face :p

And yeah it was deff postal don't worry, was a dent in the box.

dam the royal mail!!!!!! as long as your have sorted it and not damaged really. i tryed to pack it as best i could :)

tried on auto AAC and i get blue screens when booting into windows. Guess im not lucky :(

Same result I had man, try the way I suggested, set the speed to 2 ghz and do it from within the OS.

You can have 2 cores running slower then the other 2, see if that stabilises it.

2 3.8 cores and 2 2.5 cores maybe?

Somewhere I read that you need to set HT freq or NB freq to 1.6Ghz for the unlocked cores to work properly or even windows boot up without BSOD. Just change to that setting and set the ACC to auto.
