Phenom II temp madness

Two days ago, I´ve finally received my new Phenom II system (see my system specs) and yesterday and today I found the time to build it. Being really enthusiastic about the OC's I've seen with Phenom II's, I directly started to OC after the installation of XP (64-bit).

Now my temperatures are really confusing, I don't know if they are real or if I got faulty sensors. This because I used to get temps like 52 degrees while priming with an Athlon X2 4800+ @ 3,2GHz with 1,475 Vcore cooled by a ThermalTake Ruby Orb (all ALU heatsink) and the IHS of the CPU removed.

My new temp with my Phenom II X3 720 @ 3,6GHz with 1,5 Vcore cooled by a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is 33 degrees if I have to trust HWMonitor, 41 according to a motherboard sensor and 36 reported by Asus probe. I expected a drop in temperature because my new heatsink is way better than the previous one I had and the CPU is 45nm, but I can't really believe 41 degrees while priming at 1,5 volt.

So my question to you (phenom II owners), are these temps correct?

Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Edit: forgot to mention that the heatsink feels just slightly warm when I touch it and that I have applied OCZ Freeze TIM as in the last way described in this article: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.p...ask=view&id=170&Itemid=1&limit=1&limitstart=5

maybe is just a faulty reading, try using another software

Well, I've tried Everest and Speedfan as well. Both applications give me around the same temperatures as those posted in my first post. Core Temp doesn't support my CPU.

I know I don't have Phenom II, however I have noticed with my Phenom that they scale really well with voltage and that temps don't scale directly with voltage.

3.25Ghz with 1.45v and I get the same temps with my Xigmatek S1283 :)

I'm water cooled & show anywhere from 37-41°C @ idle with stock speed & voltage. If the system sat overnight & is at room temperature, & I boot right in to the BIOS, the hardware monitor shows 30-32°C in a 21-21°C room. If I quickly let it boot, Core Temp shows around 40° C as my idle temp. There is no way that the CPU temp shoots up almost 20°C over room temperature in less than 2 minutes.
